El Jefe
I LOVE going backhand.
When we were there in '96 we had been driving up and down the road looking for a place to camp. After passing that arroyo for the third time and light fading we pulled down to the beach and set up camp. Woke up with the sun and scored a very localized 6-8' straight south that did not register on ANY swell radar and lasted from sunup to sunset. In February!

It was 80 degrees and sunny and I can't recall if my arms hurt worse or my face from the plastered on grin. When I finally left the water from exhaustion at the end of the day we drove around to Todos to see friends and they said it had been flat for a month. When we told them about the fun we just had they did not believe! That whole East Cape is special. Some great memories made there.
HAVE FUN!
