hope it wasn't an all-out cardiac event but something like a bad reaction to something like atrial fibrillation.

Just spoke with Dennis. He is at Cardiomed in Ensenada. Apparently he had a stroke and he said that he is not going to the VA in San Diego. He will be
there for a few days.
I am going to visit him tomorrow.
