I already thought of that... not sure how to price the package as the weight is double, but if you buy from us in person at a power point presentation, I may bring some of Mike's books? These mission books have value, and I have even heard from some of you who have seen it, to not discount, they are worth the time, effort and information they contain... So $20 is fair and it will keep on giving for years.

Mike's book is also valuable as entertainment and information (how to live on the coast of Baja for a summer)... I will discuss it with Max. We are meeting tomorrow to do another proof read of the last edits.

Thank for your suggestion!

We have received orders for about 20 books so far at PayPal and a few sent checks to the P.O. box, so I think it is working okay? If Pay Pal is a hassle please just mail a check, the old fashion way. Thank you very much.

Today Max and I spent some hours on final edits and it is really looking nice... We have more maps and now each locator map (3) has a page facing it with the missions listed on each map. Before, we had the list after the three maps. All to make using the book even easier.

There is a chance we will have a Spanish edition as well, we are seeing about having it translated by someone from the historic center in Baja California.

We will be meeting the governor and other dignitaries for the State of Baja California next week, and they will be presented with our book.

Yes, this is getting exciting... of course a copy is going to Huell Howser, too. My co-author, Max spent an entire 1 hour show with Huell (on the El Camino Real Bells).

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INTEREST and SUPPORT!

Thank you very much... Well today (Sunday) spent the afternoon at Max's in El Cajon and wow, the book looks real nice (on the computer)!

I am sharing the details with you because you guys are like family, and in fact you are closer in many ways as we all share such a deep love for Baja and Old California History!

We are doing a run of 30-40 copies tomorrow that will go to Tecate this Wednesday night, where the Governor of Baja California and other State officials will be officially opening CAREM's museum. We will be presenting the governor with his own copy and others to CAREM then.

If I can get a chance to personally meet the governor, I will ask Max to take a photo... Anyway, the good news is this first printing will get a real scrutinizing for appearance, errors, etc. so the next run (your guy's books) will be the best possible... even better than what the governor gets, maybe!!

See more on CAREM here: http://www.carem.org

Thank you!

PS... I just saw this on the CAREM web page:

November, 2012
Book Presentation: The Old Missions of Baja California & Alta California 1697-1834
Presentation of new book by authors Max Kurillo, Erline Tuttle & David Kier. At Miguel Mathes Media Room, CAREM Facilities, Tecate, B.C. Mexico.

I will ask Max to find out how much Canada cost to ship to, but I don't think it is too big a deal... and I will happily sign it... okay, eh?

Spiral binding is the main way we are going at this point, as it really is user friendly to keep the book open on a particular page, etc. On the web site, we do mention to let us know if you want perfect binding (typical book style) via email to oldmissions*at*gmail.com. Thank you for the order!

Last night was a special moment for us launching the book by meeting and presenting a copy to the governor of Baja California. See him holding a spiral bound copy:

I believe she is the assistant to the governor... part of the advance team who told Max and I where to stand and how the governor would be meeting us... just a minute or two before he got to the building we are in front of.

Seriously, we feel bad that you Canadians have to travel 1,000 or more miles (1,600+ kilometers, eh?) before you are even in Baja... SO WE ARE SHIPPING TO CANADA at no additional cost!

Sold! Deal done. Please send the coil-back as I look forward to reading your work on the way down.

Yeah...it's a long drive to Tecate and then we drive a whole bunch more to get to the East Cape!

Thanks for the break from a Canadian prairie girl, where sadly, we drink Corona or Coors light!
