I went by the AAA offficed and picked up two Baja and two Mexico maps yesterday. They were dated 2010. I asked if they were not going to make them for Baja and they said they had not heard anything about it. They probably wouldn't until the next shipment comes in.

I passed by the AAA office near Poway Road and I-15 this morning... and I went in and asked for two Baja maps. She said, sure, and handed over two maps from a stack of them. 2010 edition still.

Then she said to me, "Is there a race or something going on down there? You are the third person this morning asking for a Baja map."

Must be a bunch of us Nomads making a mad dash to our local AAA shop to gobble them up!!

Paying registration at the Escondido AAA the other day and asked for a copy of the Baja map. No problem. No indication that they're not going to be carrying them any more.

How about we Nomads update it? We read trip reports and road conditions reports here, and show the changes on that part of the map. Here is a list of new paved roads since the 2010 printing of the map:

The new highway to San Juanico from Las Barrancas. Paving all the way into Asuncion, Abreojos, and almost to San Javier. Is the paved/ concrete road done all the way to San Jose Comondu (from Francisco Villa/ Poza Grande)? Paved part way to San Francisco de la Sierra and from Puertecitos to the Campo El Faro road. Also the entire road to the observatory is paved... and into Ejido Erendira, plus Francisco Zarco (Guadalupe) to Hwy. 1, north of El Tigre. Oh, that paved road north of Santa Rosalia to the volcano hotel and power station, too! San Ignacio south towards the lagoon for about 20 miles or more?

Any other new roads (paved or not paved roads)? The Paso Hondo (north of La Purisima) to Mulege road that KurtG and others have done, perhaps?
