Go to knot.--- Improved Clinch. Dad taught me 60 years ago. I can tie it in the dark, drunk, sober, blindfolded, with my eyes shut, open, looking
the other way whatever. Anytime it has failed me, I knew before I dropped it that it wasn't right.

Never heard of a bolen knot?, but a bowline knot is very useful in so many ways (knot for fishing however:no and easy to untie!

I use the uni knot for most everything. Not because it's a great knot but because I can tie it in my sleep. Dad taught it to me at the kitchen table
when I was 11.
The Bolen knot is real nice because of it's small profile. It goes through the guides very smoothly. Don't like 'bulky' knots.
Wow. Just wrote essentially the same comment as waitzename.

Right on Skippy Joe. I think I learned at a kitchen table too, only in a trailer while camping at the meadows just below Parchers Camp on the So.
Fork of Bishop Creek. Dad hauled a trailer up there and we stayed two weeks. Had to stop numerous times and let the car cool off in one of the
turnouts as it was a one lane road then with cliffs on either side. Mom was terrified. Oh----the good times.

When I have live bait, dead bait, chunk bait and stout mono for bigger fish, I know I can rely on the Seaguar --- strong, quick, deadly when you need
fluoro leaders in a hurry.

Albright for splicing two lines
Improved Clinch- learned it as a boy scout on fishing trips many years ago. Never failed me under all types of circumstances
Palomar if I'm feeling like some variety from the clinch.

Hooks = palomar.
Terminal tackle, iron, trolling lures = double uni knot
Both of these knots have two lines in the eye. They are bullet proof unless you don't notice the two line crossed over each other. If they are
crossed then they are self cutting. as I get older it takes a bit more time to see if the know is tied right.
Floro leader to mono = surgeons knot. This knot has proven itself to be great up to 60# leaders. 7 wraps 20#, 6 for 30#, 5 for 40-60#.
