dont know how y'all got 14" 7"
regulation says boats less than 4.5 meters exempt.
4.5 meters is 14.76 feet or 14' 9.1"

I am with goat on this one. Objective criterion and measurements are best reflected with exactness since it makes 100% or 0.0% distinctions as to whether something is covered or not covered at all. If the law was on a sliding scale wherein something is found within the law by degrees, that would be a different story. Besides, especially in this instance, being exact doesn't take that much more energy.

Got a question, though. Is the TIP related specifically and only to the right to be on the water in Baja, or, the right to have the boat "in" the Baja, that is, being trailered on Baja roads, or even on dry private land in Baja?

there are NO stupid questions !! just bad answers...LOL...on outboard motors the ser # on most makes on the port "L" bracket..thats outside the rear (transom) of the boat..aka the bracket that holds the motor to the boat (transom) few,,but some are on the starboard side...till about 20 years ago they where a little metal stamped plate...now they are a plastic/vinyl sticker and the numbers/letters don't last very long in the salt and UV...BTW..if you OWN a Marine motor,, I would highly recommend you find and write these numbers/letters down in 3/4 places...It is the only way you can find/order marine engine parts...On I/O"S & Inboards if on the newer side ck the inside of the Vale covers...for a sticker/decal...Record the ser#'s...some older Merc's had a plack above the starter...but if its that old..."Your on borrowed Time" !!....K&T:cool:
