San Ignacio Lagoon is no longer isolated... People have been able to make it out of the lagoon for a couple of days. Obviously not taking the usual
route just yet, but they are managing to make their way to town and points beyond.
Prior to the creation of an alternate route to town, a helicopter was used to transport food, water, and other necessities to the lagoon.

Friends who drove out to Laguna San Ignacio yesterday from the town of San Ignacio say the camps on the lagoon were not themselves damaged by the
storm. They took a route that requires a big 4x4 vehicle, over a mesa.

hard to believe but whale season will be here in just a few months. if things are still needed by then, let us know and we can bring down hard to find
items in Jan/Feb/March (still working on travel schedule)

The whale watching camps are fine, just a bit busy between hurricane season and preparations for the upcoming whale watching season.
The road to the lagoon is a mess right now, but the locals will have a functional road out to the lagoon by whale watching season. This is pretty
much an annual event - Storms take that road out every year. Once the waters recede, and things dry up a bit, that is when people will have a better
idea of what damage was done to the road.
