Wow...those are great photos, Willy!

Last night I took Blanca's suggestion and went to a Mexican Restaurant here in Grass Valley and had a Margarita.

The sky had been cloudy last night, and I was afraid we wouldn't get to see it. At the announced time for the full eclipse here, I went outside and sure'nuff, the sky cleared and we did indeed see that beautiful Big A$$ Red Moon!

I am still waiting for the "end of the world" to happen though. I mentioned this to people within earshot of me at the bar (where I also ate). Some looked at me all weird like :O and others downright up and moved away from me. ;) My parting shot to them as they scurried was, "Hey! I ain't even Mormon". Ya just can't get respect anymore for being a religion denier.:(

Tony, Was that 'Maria's'? They serve a great Carne Asada! Very good Baja style breakfast as well.

as we were gathered to watch this historical event, the conversation naturally led to wondering what people thought in times of old..before internet and news sources announced these astronomical events....
when my phone rang and an alarmed Juan my husband asked me..."Wasnt it supposed to be a full moon tonight?" He was confused and worried as he stepped outside to marvel at the full moon...and saw only a half moon!!! He didnt know about the eclipse and was relieved when he heard that was what was happening!

Cloudy here, couldn't even see the moon. That was all the small group of super moon deniers needed. To them that reinforced the belief that their opinion was actually fact.
Two of them said the moon was really a liberal government plot to take away our freedoms.
One claimed the lib government actually took the moon to give all the cheese to the welfare queens and illegal immigrants.

Now how could they get all that cheese when we all know that they never went to the moon ---- that was another big government lie to gain money and control by these mysterious liberal organizations.

And now we have to deal with more of those unscrupulous scientists who want us to believe there might be water on Mars!
