Hola,

how does the duty free work ? i've heard about it from a friend in los barriles years ago but am hesitant in getting off the entrance road as i'm VERY navigationally impaired.

GRACIAS,

BIEN SALUD, DA RAT

24 can case of Tecate = $8.79 and no tax. Carton of US made cigarettes = $10 and no tax. Only provision is that you must cross directly into Mexico.

Croosed southbound at San ysidro yesterday afternnon and decided to make a "quick" stop at Duty free at last US exit. Got at end of line coming out of duty free at McDonalds driveway around 4 PMand didn't clear Mexican Customs until 5:30. Never do that again on a Friday afternoon.

Fridays are the worst but southbound every weekday at the afternoon rush hour (3:30 to 6:30 or so) is pretty bad.

Yes. During rush hour 40-50 minutes is to be expected, every weekday. Not counting possible secondary inspection.
