Quote: Originally posted by carlosg | Just arrived in Guerrero Negro, drove Hwy 5 hauling boat (16') and took a couple of Tecates and 2hrs from pavement to pavement, we drove around 20

speed.
Road from beginning to end has continuous washboard but nothing to be alarmed of, some but not many ugly tire cutting rocks on road.
Staying overnight in GN since we started our trip at 4:00am in Chula Vista.

Glad you made it through! Do check all the nuts and bolts on the trailer!

With all the construction on hwy 1 between Ensenada and san vicente their might be the about the same amount of dirt and washboard as hwy 5.

Wow Bob, did you travel on Saturday the 19th with the Baja 1000 going on?
We made several stops on our way South: McDonald's in Calexico, customs at the border, tacos in Mexicali, beers in Gonzaga and chatting with bike
riders at the end of Hwy 1 in Chapala. We arrived at Terrasal around 5pm so that route took us about 9hrs from Chula Vista to GN considering the
downtime for stops.
Today we put the boat in the water ready for tomorrow morning.
Later this week: fishing with Alex Bucovekz.
No phone in Posada Concepción but good WiFi and thus good Messenger and Whatsup... so phone calls are possible.

Great drive time Carlos... I-8 east then go south to Mexico 5 (through San Felipe) is the quick way from San Diego to Baja Sur, even towing a boat!

Glad you had a great trip and those sharp rocks did not jump out and bite you. They are almost as bad as the bandidos.
