I did see a Sierra Nevada "Torpedo" IPA as well as a Lagunitas IPA - unless it was a hop-tical illusion...

i find it fascinating how alcohol is such a part of various cultures.
as an example , we all likely know someone who had to stop drinking for some reason. thier social interactions change dramatically in many cases.
old friends drift apart without the bonding drinking previously provided. i have many friends with whom i would little in common with without a few
adult beverages.

Firestone Walker beers (from Paso Robles, CA) used to be easy to find here on the East Coast, but it's easily been a year or two since I've had a
Union Jack IPA. I'm a bit tired of the prevailing "New England IPA" style, whose cloudiness resembles some of my less successful homebrewing
misadventures.

I'm relieved to see what seems like a moderation of hard core hop usage. some folks became obsessed with uber hoppy IPA.
I'd prefer a Tecate white to many IPAs that are overdone.
.....but thats just me.

India Pale Ale didn't get that way because people in India liked it that way. The ale was brewed in England and shipped to India!
With a long sea voyage, and no refrigeration, a higher alcohol content and heavy hops were used to preserve the brew until it got to the Brits, who
didn't care what it tasted like because there was nothing else!
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

tecate blanca....is how tecate light is referred to here. one advantage to drinking it is that when friends drop by they bring beer so that they
don't have to drink my tecate

Haven’t been drinking beer in 2021, beer is just too heavy and bloating, this winter it has been:
Whiskey,
Boulevardiers
Manhattans
Red wines
Port
Champagne
When the weather warms, will be time for gin/tonics
Woke!

will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.”

.... and a deadly addiction for others....
the adolescent bragging rights of consuming alcohol....as if it is a badge of maturity, only a way of "just having fun", and a social lubricant for
many.
How would a thread about "the best Baja mota", "show me a pic of a killer joint on the beach".... go over here? I dare guess there might be some
judgements made about that.
The "show me your beer (wife, dog, boat, rental trailer, etc)" is really just a cheap grab for air time.
In the mean time....at ease .... and spit, cuss, and scratch at your leisure
Don't believe everything you think....

Surprised that the usual grab for the moral high ground chastising the “deplorable’s” allowed the thread to go this far.
