He should have done more and better but still the country is on the right track.
I agree with Dave that Slim has too much power in Mexico. Telmex is still a monopoly and we all customers are paying for him being the 4th richest men
on earth. |
I don't think Telamex is a monopoly anymore.

With regard to the the article - the CIA - hmmmm - sounds familiar - thats the agency the claimed there were WMD, Al-Qaida, and nukes in Iraq and
failed to see the disintegration of the USSR isn't it? Why give it so much credibility now?
(spare me the commentary - I'm a Republican - but a pretty disgusted one.)
Now what's being said in the Mexican press and radio - that's different - it looks like Mexico's experiment with democracy may have run in to a
pothole.
As far as democracy in Mexico - I don't see why all the credit is going to Fox (2nd article) - it was Zedillo who allowed it to happen.

the way I understand it they have done the same thing they did in The US . they broke up the original big company in to small Baby companies like
telamex and telnor and countless others. and also now you can chose your long distance carrier and your INTERNET service provider and so forth. for
example my long distance service is with Aventel which is much cheaper. in most places you can chose between different ISP s but not in Mulege it is
two small to git AOL and the others to come in. also Telamex is now owned by a US company

Uh Oh...
Every gringo who lives in Mexico should follow this VERY closely. If Obrador's supporters actively protest then this could reverberate across the
entire country.

150,000 is peanuts. He could put 1,000,000+ in the streets if he wants.
"But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow"
The PRI and PAN are collective idiots. You think the army will come and save their a**?

Actually, the PAN is commiting political suicide, the PRI stands to win it all if Obrador is not permited to run, and since the PAN is the one pushing
for his removal, they have 0 chance of winning the election, nobody can figure out why they are doing it, they are getting hammered politically and
are still pushing this. Even hard core PAN and PRI supporters think this whole thing is wrong.
We are heading into a pretty turbulent period, thats for sure.

There has been letters circulating around Tijuana and other areas of northern Mexico, a group calling itself "Mexicans for democracy and equality"
warns that it will begin persecuting and executing PRI and PAN politicians is Obrador gets screwed.

Dave,
If this nations needs to go to hell and back to get it on the correct path to equality and oportunity, i say let do it, i do not like Obrador, but i
think that what Fox is doing is wrong, i have lost all respect for him and i voted for the guy.
I root for whatever is neccesary to change things.

Jesse the problem is it is going to take a revaluation to change things the way they need to change. as soon as one would start the US would step in
and back the government.

It realy doesn't matter how many revolutions they have in Mexico it never changes. The rich come out on top the poor are still poor and you get some
new players running the county then they get rich. The only thing different this time is the narco rich who will join the new goverment and try to
take over the power. Then the real war will start.Seems like 1905 in Mexico to me.I think we have a few more years left to change things but that
won't happen. If the US ever seals the border because of a terroist attack things will move very fast then I will leave Mexico.
