Shari

I don't think you guys have any worries, It is going across north of San Everesto and breaking up fast. The Yachty net just finished here in La Paz no problems reported highest gust 51 knots.

jeepers...she's an unpredictable woman all right....the models looks like drunks arguing in a bar....
the salt works in GN get trashed and they lose a bunch of pesos...all the roads turn to mush and the evaporation ponds are ruined with fresh water. I'm sure they have been scraping up salt like mad the last few days to get the crop in....The danger there is if the dykes overflow, break and let very nasty naturally occuring heavy metals into the lagoon...hopefull the sea turtles arent feeding there this time of year as they are the victims of poisening when this happens...hundreds die or toxic shock...ooops....maybe Munoz can report them.

Ugh, it's very flat there... hope that everything in that area is OK! Hopefully Mag Bay will get some protection from the outlying bluffs.

My guess is not long, a few minutes, I saw it all lit up a bit ago, too much sunlight to tell now. We still have power in Centenario, usually when they go we go.

AP mentions Shari and Juan's place!

Hurricane Jimena swirls past southern Baja resorts
By MARK STEVENSON (AP) – 1 hour ago

LOS CABOS, Mexico — Hurricane Jimena pounded the middle of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula on Wednesday after lashing the Los Cabos resort region with driving rains and thundering surf.

Further up Baja's west coast, Juan Arce Marron said he was prepared for the hurricane to roll into his small campground in the Bahia Asuncion fishing village later in the day.

"We're starting to feel the wind this morning," he said, "but we're prepared for a bigger hit this afternoon."

Marron said windows were nailed shut, doors were locked and boats already up on land. More importantly, he said his family had stocked days of food and water, because dirt roads in the region, which is in the heart of the massive Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve, tend to wash out in large storms.
