Going TOO Far ?

Needless to say, I disagree.

To sum up my Life Philosophy on the subject (and I have on occasion fell short):

As an adult, There is Absolutely NO justification for Ever making your neighbors Uncomfortable to be where they are. Loud or Intimidating Speech, Braggadocio, Music, Actions (afoot or in a vehicle) are Rude, at the very least. Anyone who thinks that their attention-getting antics (drunken or sober) that intrude on the pleasure of others are justifiable, is an immature Boob.

Returning to the subject of the No-Display "Big Bangs", there isn't a single argument that a mature adult can make to justify their use around others. They are clearly meant to annoy, just as drunken party bully-behavior and loud offensive music is and does.

While I agree with BM that one should not violate the sanctity of another's being, I also do not think that I could stand to live in a society where nobody pulls a wild hair and make a spectacle of himself/herself even if it bothers some goody too-shoes somewhere.

That's just MrBill being MrBill. He always has strong opinions. Doesn't make him a bad guy.

Dennis-------No, it doesn't make MrBill a "bad guy", but I think he is being a little cranky today---------that's all.

Like Packo says, a world without a little crazyness is pretty boreing, at least to me. Of course, this from a guy that loves all loud bangs.

But yes, if I knew that my antics disturbed my neighbors, then I would be wrong to annoy them, and wouldn't. Thank God my neighbors like "loud bangs", just like I do, and almost always participate, and even try to top me.

Well, I have just had a "situation" that makes me more sympathetic to MrBill's point of view.

The weather is so nice that we decided to have dinner out on our back patio-------turned on the outside speakers and played soft jazz, Meredith put out a fantastic feed, and we both sat down to enjoy a peaceful dinner. BUT, for the entire time we were out there, the 1/2 of our neighbors that have dogs entertained us with their incredibly annoying yapping mini-dogs------------they yapped, and yapped, and yapped, and yapped!!!!!!!! I got so irritated that I though of getting my pellet gun and going hunting, but my saner wife stopped me.

Now THAT is irritating, and suddenly I knew what MrBill was talking about---------what is with these normally considerate neighbors letting these incredible little rat-dogs carry on and on like that? How RUDE!!!!!!

So, I guess I sorta owe MrBill an apology------------and man am I now cranky!!!!!

Barry, no please, don't use the pallet gun on the dogs. Your neighbors obviuosly are not the pack leaders letting those little basturds yelp away like that. Call the Dog Whisperer and let Cesar, in his words, " get bottom this" and "remain calm submissive":D

Feeling Good

From Dennis:

"Barry ------
MrBill is always cranky when he's feeling good."

------------------------------------------------------------

I like that. There's more than a little truth there.

Speaking of Barking Dogs, that is my latest problem and they're MY Dogs !

Returning to El Norte last month, my dogs were doing their normal morning routine putting the desert creatures and occasional Human beyond the back fence in their place. A guy comes over from next door who had rented one of the houses on that lot while we were gone. He proceeds to tell me that he is a DAY Sleeper and the dogs disturb him. I'm now engaged in a fulltime behavior modification program with my GROWN Dogs trying to break them of a habit of many years. So far, with pretty decent success, but it sure is hard explaining to them in a language they understand. The irony is that, with open desert behind us, we hadn't minded the dogs barking since it made us aware of whoever wandered through there.

I firmly believe that those little rat-dogs haven't a clue even what a "pack leader" is----------any native intelligence has long ago been bread out of them!!! (why else would they just yap, yap, yap, yap, etc.)

But, not to worry, even as mad as I am I will not shoot a dog unless he/she threatens to bite me, or mine.

(crazy little rat-dogs!!!!----why would anybody want one of those insanely noisy critters?)

I always wondered whether little barky dogs would make good mop heads.

I don't know - maybe you could combine exploding fireworks and little yapping dogs into one fun-filled activity?

I have an idea for one of those. Kinda like a cigar cutter, but bigger. We can call it the Doguillotine. They'll be completely silent afterwards.

Saw that done once with a frog when I was a kid. Not pretty.

This thread isn't about how reasonable BM can be. It's not about dogs yapping and someone's intolerance to barking.

This thread is about something as patriotic as Mom's apple pie, and the Fourth of July. I'm writing about the joys of explosions -- be it Black Cat firecrackers or M-80's like my Dad use to enjoy.

Check it out!!!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salute_(pyrotechnics)

No mistake this form of entertainment is called "salutes."

Fortunately, Baja will never go the way of the politically correct El Norte around fireworks. PC gringos -- go the f*ck home!

My brother lives in India off and on. He told me about the celebration of Diwali. He says that for one entire day, virtually every single person in India is busy setting off as many fireworks as possible. It's a religious thing I guess.
