Cudos to you! That 1500 must boogie pretty good w/hemi. I have a few tricks aboard my ride that separates it from the pack. I want to keep working on the suspension tho. I'm thinkin' bout switchin' out the frt coils for the newer PW stouter version and putting in a quality body-lift.
Poor ol' Blue goes form "Teflon Blue" to "Baja Dust Blue" regularly. I can say that that photo is pre-scratch days. Although I regularly wash and treat the finish it's still beat-up w/scratches from all the old narrow tracks lined with brillo pads. I hope you abuse yours regularly. Off-road adventures are fodder for Dodge trucks!
No problem with that I abuse mine quite alot,it sports battle scars from varoius Baja locations. Here are a few places.
Montevideo,San Fernando mission&rock art,Santa Ana visita for the San Borja mission,Laguna Hanson,Palomar canyon,Guadalupe canyon just to mention a few.
Here is a picture where i got the biggest scar of all,(Palomar canyon).

You better be kidding. The last time I got stuck, I called David K who called Desert Bull, and the Observatory Road nearly destroyed Desert Bull's flatbed trailer! :O

I see that naming you rig goes way back. after reading Mike's H. in the shadow of the volcano I notice that the landcruiser he used on his 1974 trip was call TORTUGA(turtle),now i just started reading Barbara T.Blissfully lost in the Baja and she calls her Toyota TESSIE,wow this is deep....

Baja rigs and names

My 1970 1 ton Chevy Dually with a chassis mount camper was called the Baja Beast. 396 motor, 3 gas tanks, 7mpg. Tin boat on top, chrome steer horns on the hood (these alone get you an extra 10 hp), "The Baja Beast" in letters on the back. Took me up and down the Baja peninsula for 20 years, never left me stranded, although it seemed that something small was always going wrong. The Beast has now gone to that big junkyard in the sky.

Red

I just call the buggy 'Red'. I have since sold the trailer but it was fun camping with it and not sleeping on the ground.

Baja Cat,

Why don't you come down to the Off Road event happening in Rosarito on the 13th/14th??? Its real fun, and you'll see tons of built 4WD Baja vehicles on the obstacle course that's being constructed.

Last year, a Danish-born Tijuana resident by the name of "Tom" was the winner. Here, he's competing for the prize...
