I looked all over google for animations, animated cartoons, and other titles. But so far no luck. I found other ones, but none as lively as yours. I can at least tell from your code that you download the images from a file library in Imageshack(

There's lots of moisture in them, there clouds...

...I sure hope the 'river folks' in Mulege haven't hung up their hip waders yet!

Some folks just can't get a break...maybe it's time to think about moving to higher ground...Paradise seem's to lose a bit if it's luster when you have to shovel out the mud every year or so...

Then there's the attitude related to us by some dear friends on the Mexican' mainland below Mazatlan...where their beach front palapa restaurants are 'attacked' by tropical storms every few years..."That's why we use palm roofs...cheap to replace when the high winds send them into the mountains". They shovel out the sand, clean the tables, replace the roof, and get on with life!

I guess paradise is truly a state of mind...

It looks like there is some rain from the mainland being sucked west by the storm.
Clouds started near La Paz and are heading north towards Mulege within the next hour.
If this proceeds like yesterday, the rain clouds will dissipate by mid-day.

safer is wiser, maybe

Hi. We've decided to suspend clean-up and camping in our house for awhile. I'm going to move what I can of my squeeky-clean kitchen up into the attic this morning. The just-refurbished stove and refrigerator are coming out of the house and into town to high ground this afternoon, some of the furniture too, if we can find a covered place.

Looks like the storm will bisect the peninsula through Loreto. I hope my tactics will not be needed and this storm a non-event, but I just don't want to get caught unprepared another time... and in my experience you can never be too prepared.

Right now, Tuesday morning 9:15 a.m., the sun shines with gentle breezes, just a few clouds in the sky... but things happen fast around here.

Baja is a beautiful land, but a harsh land and a place of contrast.

Getting scary-close to Mulege' again.
This one looks like it may impact the exact same area, Cuidad-Mulege' as last time.

It is raining here now.

The port of San Lucas was closed yesterday until further notice.

Lowell must be sucking these clouds over us.

Rough seas.

Nothing serious happening. no wind and occasional rain.

My laundry is back in the washing machine waiting to get back on the line. I was sure everyone was wondering about that!

Our garden looks like a jungle. Everything is as green as it gets. Beautiful!

This is a good image and shows that this storm may have a lot of rain in it. You can see the band of clouds going all the way up to Maine.

Thanks Marv.
Good site. Takes a little to load up.
Sure shows lots of moisture associated with this system, lots sucked in from the mainland.

Surface Sea Temperature

I fished yesterday and the day before in the Pacific outside Mag Bay. The surface sea temperature Sunday peaked at 86 degrees on Thetis Bank and north, and at 87 degrees yesterday. I don't know what effect, if any, this will have on the storm picking up steam before landfall, but I have never before seen surface temperatures so high in that area.

Just got home (around 4pm) and opened the casita up,unpacked the car, grabbed a cool one and sat out side and watched a squall heading towards me from the Mulege. I thought I was in the start of the storm and the casita hadn't even cooled down. Luck was with me and it petered out before it made shore. Fantastic cloud formations though. It feels so GOOD to be home! Sorry no photos today. I've been looking around and getting some info from friends and it appears that this storm may only be a rain event here. Here's a sat enhancement:
Edit: I read this and it sounds like I'm not taking this too serious. Sorry, I don't mean to make "lite" of it. Just wishful thinking.
