Not from a book, but it's the most repeated phrase at our house: "Put it on the list."

I have two. First one came from a guy pumping gas from a 50 gallon drum in Baja de Los Angeles. Talking about America, he said "I like your country, but its too complicated. Down here, there's nothing $20 won't fix."

The second one came from a gringo telling me how to take the very long northern route out of Scorpion Bay. Since the road fans out often he told me to "watch for the fresh tecate cans. If you see fresh, red tecate cans on the ground, you're on the right road." And his advice totally worked.

Not sure how happy I am to hear about folks tossing empty beer cans out. How hard is it to keep it in your truck until you can just dispose of it, or better yet recycle it???

That's why I am always carrying trash bags around with me...

We were 5 couples staying at our place in Playa Tortuga and we were all knocking back many a tequilla and one guy and his wife headed to bed and he stuck his head back into the living room and yelled to us "tonight I'm taking chances!!!" Needless to say that cost him! He got nada! We now say Casa Panga "a great place for taking chances"....
Many good times in baja!
I must say "get the gaff" is another great one!
