Pretenders! Yours truly attended Woodstock. Later spent time in Greenwich Village and then the Haight. But for all my training, I ended up working for
an insurance company. A long, strange trip, eh?
Ya, a little poser like.
I'm 50 and I can tell you that the hippie scene had pretty much run it's course by the time we were teens.
I did catch the tail end of it. Grew my hair long, smoked pot etc.
My real interest was the free love part. The pill. Bra burning. Ya man!
I did have alot of druggie chick girlfiends. Kinda like hippie chicks I guess.
But we were "Sex, drugs and rocknroll".
They were "Peace, love, and sex"
They had hippies vans. We had Harleys and muscle cars. And a few party vans.
Fortunately, I was an athlete and never got into the drug scene much.
But I never went back to team sports. Only X sports. But we didn't call them that. They didn't have a name then.
Then the military and corporate america. 10 more years of working for "the man" and I'll retire to baja and forget all about it.
And I'm not wearing any f-ing tie-dye either!
Save the f-ing whales man!

I was there too.
August '69. Got there a few days before it started, watched the final construction of the bandstand, the whole show, left a few days after it ended.
Spaced out on Max Yasgur's farm.
Funny you should mention that name. There's a realtor lady in Cabo, Ina Yank, who claims Max Yasgur is her uncle. [I think it was uncle] She told
me that forty years ago in Newport Beach.

I've seen some reviews on her RE activities down there and I think she has several renditions of various nicknames. You can Google her name.
Anyway, I hadn't seen here for those forty years until somebody mentioned her name here on Nomad, the great Baja clearing-house.
I thought the World had gone Sappy when I heard about Woodstock!!
Until I had an office in San Francisco during the "Flower Children" times remmembering the times I would drive home down Shattuck Ave in Berkerey to
watch the Bouncing Boobs.
Colorado has done great things with their Park Systems, Their Fisheries, their Lakes and Streams.
It is gewtting so Popular they may have to start a Reservation system like at maybe Horse Camp Park up near Crested Butte.
It was packed full of Horses and Mules from Mo. TExas, Colo. New Mex.
I can see why a whole bunch of West Coast people have moved in and are still coming.
I recall pullling into Crusted Butt around 1:00 a.m. many years ago after driving across the state from Colorado Springs. We were hopelessly lost,
there was no moon and the town was totally dark. My buddy Mike was driving, and took a right turn on a narrow dirt road through a meadow surrounded
by woods. The drive dead ended and rather than back us out, Mike bushwhacked us through the long grass to get us turned around. Noting that the
grass seemed to be kinda bumpy, I made him stop, got out and poked around with a flashlight until I discovered that we were in a graveyard. Good
times.

Skeet- Possible that you recall a great dive bar and Italian joint on Shattuck? For the life of me I can't recall the name, but their booze was way
cheap.

Now that you mention it, there was a guy named Dave (that's D-A-V-E) sleeping in the back seat.
