San Mateo 1967-1969
Los Angeles 1970-present

Igor we didn't get to Kotor. The coastline and the history in the Dubrovnik area are both fantastic. Dubrovnik has one of the most beautiful cable-stayed bridges I have ever seen:

Born in Orange, CA almost 50 years ago... but within weeks my parents moved into our beach home in Del Mar... the same one Lucy Ball and Desi Arnaz rented each summer before and after my parents bought the house on Sandy Lane... (we moved out for the 3 months they rented).

Also lived in Rancho Santa Fe (65-70) where my dad had his dentist office, then the Escondido area (70-94), Vista and now in Oceanside... with brief times in Darwin Australia ('70) and Fresno California (94-96).

David, very interesting stuff regarding Lucy and Desi. I guess you had the opportunity to meet them both in person.

This is a neat thread!

I used to work in a shop in Montana, was conversing with a customer one day when a third person came in. She stopped short, looked me in the eye, and said "Chicago!" I hadn't been there for years, and had no idea that I had an accent. It never goes away... your wife will always sound as sweet as she does today. And probably she knows, as I do, that those of us from Chicago don't have accents ;)

edit was for clarity.

Yes, I guess you could say that... I was a BABY!
Lucille Ball did hold me, my mom told me... no photos, as my mom considered Lucille as 'regular people'!!! Can you imagine that!!!

I remember in an episode of I Love Lucy where they mentioned "going to spend the summer in 'Del Mar, Califonia"... Hey, that was my HOUSE!:o

When tidal wave warning signs went up on the beach after the Alaskan earthquake, my parents decided to move inland to the ranch.

Born and Raised in my younger years in Coronado----a year in Moses Lake Washington---several years in Las Vegas----4 years in New Orleans----6 years in Saucier and Biloxi Mississippi-----11 years and couting in Manhattan Beach California.

Most of extended family originated and remain in Montan(Great Falls, Geraldine, Fort Benton, Helena....on and on)

As a child, a great deal of my summers were spent in National City on Lauder Street with grandparents and at their vacation home in Ocotillo....

I have been fortunate to travel to a great deal of our wonderful planet and enjoyed many of the places tremendously but nothing comes close (in my book to SoCal) other than numerous places in Mx (Baja and mainland).

We never plan to sell our Manhattan home but will 'retire' in Mx sooner than later.
