I love black humor-- sometimes its all you gots in a bad sit'siashon ...

so I was thinking what Mulege needs is a microbrewery featuring a medley of desert-inspired beers: like "La Lluvia" a light beer; "La Tormenta Tropical" a full-bodied amber; the house dark beer "El Lodo"

We're tired of shoveling mud here and waitin' on the next one! Can you guys help come up with some names of special brewskies to help pass the time?

well believe it or not it is these storms that make Mulege the little Paradise that it is. with out the water you would not want to live there very much. If you don't like shoveling mud every 3 to 5 years then you need to move to higher ground. my guess is if you are shoveling mud then you live right on the river, and if you live right on the river it is because you enjoy living on the river. without these storms there would be no river so you are going to need to change your attitude to one more like Sharksbaja or move up the hill.

good to have you back onboard Russ....a good breeze here this morning on the midwest pacific coast and huge swell and building....very dramatic...clear skies but cooler this morning.

Lets hope for some good weather reports this morning to find out what's up....looks like its weakening fast...whew...

LOWELL IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL THROUGH THURSDAY ACROSS SOUTHERN BAJA CALIFORNIA. MOISTURE FROM LOWELL COULD SPREAD INTO THE ADJACENT PORTIONS OF THE STATES OF SINALOA AND SONORA IN MAINLAND MEXICO AND PRODUCE 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.

Is that enough rain to be a problem?

Woke up to rain, steady, and a little wind.
The rain is wonderful for here. We always need rain.
I would guess that getting into San Jose today will be a challange. There were pretty deep mud puddles yesterday and although they graded the road there are a couple of low spots that I am sure are problematic.....think I will stay home.

Well, so I've been slammed!

Just so you know, Bruce, I do understand the basics of how water makes green; you do not need to educate me on that.
Just so you know I am not one of those south-river people who "sit and listen to Perry Como music" to paraphrase yourself in a diatribe against the south river people after Hurricane John.
I am a hard-working, strong-minded individual who lives here year-round, and as such I am able work with the community to help make it a good place to live.
Where were you after Hurricane John? Did you help with the river clean-up efforts? No. You told me directly when I gave you a flyer to put up on the front of your office, "Oh, the Mexicans won't help with this. Its on Sunday, and that's Family Day." Just so you know, because of course you weren't there, many good folks- vacationistas, Nationals and non-national legal residents did come together for that.

Bruce, you are so out of line here.

I am posting on this board with fact about this situation here, because people sincerely want to know. I don't have time to get into a slinging match with you. I have a life to lead here in Mulege.

not again

i was wondering how long it would take, every time there is a storm it turns into "lets bash the idiots who live on the river thread" lets not go there and keep this thread to helpful information . lets keep the advise and opinions to ourselves. if there are two things the people of mulege DONT NEED, they are more water and more advise. oh , and yes, i live on the river.

thank you

you are out of line here Mulegena read my post I did not slam you. I am only saying that you need to take on the attitude of Sharksbaja and some of the others if you are going to have a house in the flood zone. as for where I was after John do a search on the forum and you will see. and as for what I told you when I did hang you flayer up on My business I only suggested to you that if you made your cleanup day one any day but Sunday you would be able to get more help. as for where was I? I was up the river helping the local Mexicans get their lives back together instead of begging them to come down and help clean up the river in front of the Americans houses.

I am sorry you are so bitter about this subject I am sure you are tired of cleaning up and I am sorry that you need to do it again but you have a choice and you chose to live with the river and that is fine lots of my friends do also. it will flood again maybe soon or could be 3 years but it is normal.

sorry Marv you are 100 percent correct we are out of line here. I only made the comment that the rain will be beneficial and this person decided to dig at me so enough is enough I will back down and let this impotent thread go striate

More rain here. No wind.
Road to San Jose iffy
Looks like the estero mouth broke through. Dont know what has happened with the estuary amusement park road along the shore. I have no idea why they thought that a road along the banks of the estuary would hold...duh. People have told me that it was for the eco park planned as part of this new development...quien sabe.
If Mulege gets this much rain, y'all will be in trouble again. You are in my thoughts...suerte!

How about
Lowell's Lager
Rain Robust Ale.

... just to chime in:

I don't care where people choose to live.
But when they b-tch and complaint about what it takes to maintain a home there, then they should do that on another thread.
Be joyous and grateful that you have mud to clean.
Whether you personally like to clean after storms or not is not the information I'm looking for when I want to find out current news about a storm...

Now you can go and discuss it amongst yourselves...

Well, I have not been posting here because of "attitudes"; that is, rude posters and my attitude against them. Mine is bad enough to keep me out of here. I often bite my tongue (and fingers) and then refrain from posting.

However, I am jumping in here to defend against the same attitudes that I saw here just after Julio.

Mulegena's attitude was NOT bad nor "b*tchy! She was responding with HUMOR! If you don't get it, get out. She is in the midst of a bad situation and is fighting it with HUMOR!.

Stop chiding the Mulege River people. Their attitudes are absolutely wonderful. They are doing what is necessary, and the helping attitudes and the offers of help to others are going way beyond what is normally required. They are literally up to their eyeballs in their own messes, yet they go way beyond "me me me". They get beyond the self and extend themselves lovingly to others.

The river dwellers, and I am one of them, bought or built before catastrophic flooding became a frequent event. They can't walk away from their houses. They can't move them to another location. They can't raise them and put them on stilts. and most of them can't afford to buy another dwelling on higher ground.
So Butt out!

You do what you HAVE to do. Given the malicious remarks that have been posted, I doubt whether any of you could meet the challenges we are meeting successfully. With your dark minds and rude remarks, you don't have what it takes. You are projecting your "attitudes" on these wonderful people. I'm glad you aren't included as neighbors.

I'm going into the swamp to get me some "Bada$$ Mulege B*tch's Brew" and then I' goin' ta come down on y'all. Now BACK OFF, ya hear?.....or I'll get my Mojo workin'. I know what some of you look like, and the dolls that I am sticking pins in look like you. You don't think there is power in that? Look out!

:o:wow:

With love for my river dwelling family,

Tony
The Orchard

Atta Boy, Tony....the river dwellers here in Mulege indeed are a different breed of cat...they cover each others backs and take care of people. Yeah, we gotta muck it out once in awhile but until you spend time with these folks you don't know who you're dealing with...I have NEVER met a more giving, hard working, sacrificing group of folks in my 60+ years...and I've been around..got some miles on me...lovin' it in Mulege..ON the river
