And don't forget that your employer paid in a matching amount to social security on top of what was deducted from your paycheck.

Dennis I was not making a moral judgment here for I too paid into Social Security. Believe me when it's time I want mine before it disappears like this phantom U-Haul!

The only charity getting my Social Security is ME!

Skeet,
Don't get all worked up about ageism expressed here by Nomads. Most of the commenters are themselves old dudes like you. I recommend you smoke some weed to take the edge off.

No. It just morphed as all of them do after the last pertinent word has been said. It's a good sign that we still have active minds even though we can't stay on track or remember anything from one minute to the next and....ummm....uhh.....what was I talking about?

Skeet, you are a good man. If anybody hears anything I suggest that everything is done with U2U's to see if we can avoid the lunacy of several posters who displayed their vast capacity of intelligence the last time around.

yes, it would be nice if we did not have to resort to u2u's to get supportive info. and there are many on this forum that are very helpful. either way, i am happy to have this forum.

I agree. Who cares if they are Jehovah's Witnesses?? These are ederly people who need help. Why are so many people finding this funny? I'm glad it's not my Grandma or Grandpa down there. I'm kinda shocked because Nomads are usually wanting to help.:fire: Hey Brenda thanks for the map, you could'nt try & atleast contact family members to let them know there is a problem. I won't even go into the fact that the man has alzheimers. Way to go:fire::mad:

I don't think people are laughing at the plight of these people. This whole thing for all we really know was a tall tale to a friend, a misunderstanding, or some people that were indeed lost; but, most likely found their way by now.

This whole episode reminds me of a time when I lived in Sacramento and was walking down the street. A car pulled up and two people asked me, "is this Fresno?"

I had to laugh; even though I felt sorry for them. I gave them directions to the freeway, told them to drive south for a few more hours, get off, and ask again.

IF anyone could help here, they most certainly would. I'm sure most nomads in Baja have had an eye out for a Uhaul, I mean really - at this point who wouldn't? But, just what are they supposed to do?! It's not fact, it's hearsay at this point.

Don't forget to blame uhaul for renting the truck to these people, the state for licensing them to drive, the road crews for building the roads, and all the people on the internet who should be looking under every rock in Baja instead of reading this.
