BAJACAT
WHAT DID I DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ???

OH MY GOSH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THERE IS NO WAY I AM SHOWING THIS PICTURE TO MY HUSBAND ...

every time we go to the States, we end up with a truckfull just like this with donations adn things I buy to sell at garage sales ... every time he swears it is the last !!! And every time, I somehow find a way to make it work

Thanks BajaCat - be ready for an abundance of good things coming your way ...the Lord takes care of those who have BIG hearts in a BIG way !!

Can you call us from G Negro ??? It is a local call: 15 60056

I called Rebeca whose husband's family owns Mario's restaurant and they will let you use the phone. If you call before you eat, that will give us plenty of time to get to CAMPO FISHER = the exit to Punta Abreojos

Gracias otra vez, no existen palabras para agradecerle lo tanto k meresca:saint::bounce:

Good to hear Jose... I added BajaBlanca's B&B web page to my links on VivaBaja.com recently. Now, if we can only get away to go back there again! La Bocana was where Antonio's (BajaCactus) parents taught school many years ago, when they were the entire school staff!

Antonio Sr. (BajaCactus' dad) loves to tell the story of his promotion to become principal of a new school he was being transfered to... This must have been 40+ years ago (before the Baja highway)...

When he arrived at La Bocana to meet his staff of teachers and custodians he found himself to be the entire school staff (principal, teacher, custodian...)! When he later requested another teacher so there could be two classes for all the La Bocana kids, they sent out the woman that would become his wife and Antonio Jr.'s mother!

David K - those are wonderful pics and we plan to stop by Baja Cactus and meet Antonio Jr

I am still in awe at the shock Sr. must have felt when he arrived to Bocana and realized everyone's life was in his hands educationally speaking !! Can u imagine the responsibility ??? We hear that Bocana kids repeatedly come out shining when tested, so whatever he started, for sure they continue the tradition well

You must have an incredible collection of photos - when I finally get the Bocana Cultural Museum here up and running, I may have to tap you up for some help :)

If you are working on a cultural museum for La Bocana, a visit with Juanita at Casa Lere in San Ignacio is a must. She has so much information, so many photos, etc. You can spend so much time there and learn so much. It will be time well spent.

Anything I can do to assit will be an honor! I may not have too much to offer for La Bocana, but I do have a pretty good Baja book and map collection and any tidbits of history I can provide will be yours!

trust me, maps and books would be absolutely fantastic to add to the collection

so far I have
1. 2 very old meat hooks used by ranchers way back when
2. 1 very old wooden water carrier they put on mules
3. some interviews with locals who started up this village
4. a boc full of odds and ends people have given me

it is only a start
my husband has donated a part of a front beach lot for me to use once I get some bldg materials

it is all good as my kids would say !!!
