HowOdd... if I had any power to remove posts on Nomad, why would I let all the crap and lies posted about me stay here?
I never read anything here that was removed, so I never saw it.
So, believe what you want, but I don't have that much influence over what Doug does here...
If I did, so much more non-friendly behavior would be removed, rather than left alone or just closed. Many have left Nomad because of the childish
attacks made for no other reason than drama. Who wants to ask questions or join this community if they are going to get slammed?

The most honest Pemex stations are the ones that charge you correctly for the amount put into your tank! (see my post above for my typical Pemex good
luck gas stops from San Diego to Loreto.

the gasoline is typically stored underground or in large above-ground tank -- neither storage mass experiences much temperature change in diurnal
cycles. if temp changes significantly, that change likely happens only after it is in your tank.

Yes, and if there is any change it would only be a fraction of a percent certainly not 2 or 3 liters out of 20.

OK...I know. I got your point. I never would care enough to verify my idea with research. It just isn't that important.
In fact, the initial question of this thread was all wrong. It should have been a quest for dishonest gas stations. That would have been a public
service for everybody instead of a popularity contest.

At least for this time. Hadn't realized that our dueling posts were over on Ron's board. Guess that since DK is an infrequent poster over there, I
didn't think to look. That, and my frequent bouts of disorientation to time and place.

time to do the math...
gas does change volume with temp change
lets say you buy gas at 40 degrees
later…when it get HOT
lets say 80 degrees
now there is MORE gas in the tank
in this example the change is 40 degrees from the time you put in
the thermal expansion of gas in units of constant/per degree celsius.
the equation is (Volume final)=(Volume initial)*C*delta(T)
T=change in temperature
C=thermal expansion consant.
the constant API factor for gasoline is .00069/degreeF
total temperature change is 40 degrees
30 (gallons) * 40 (temperature change in degrees F) * API factor .00069 = .83 gallons
that’s almost a gallon per tank
and
that changes gas mileage too

Volume of gasoline changes about 1% for every 15 degrees temperature. That's not enough to worry about.
The storage tanks are buried and insulated by earth. Temp does not change diurnally in storage tank. If anything, the tank probably acts in short
term like thermos and preserves temp of fuel at time of delivery from tanker. If you really want to save money, you should buy all your gas in
winter, and never buy gas in summer.
Your time and money would be better spent if you bought a used bike and cut out local auto trips by biking to grocery store and other local shops --
and doing so would be healthy for you. Of course, in doing this you run the risk of losing a pot belly, and if you are skinnier, well, your car has
less weight to drag around and you will burn less gasoline
