Ok, the way I see it it was your'e choice to leave the country and now you have to re-enter. No one forced you to leave so now you have to go thru the process of getting back in.
I guess it's an attitude thing, the way one aproaches the agent at the point of entry, we are the ones entering, we are the ones aproaching, we are the ones that chose to leave and now want to return. "Hey there, I'm a US citizen and deserve special treatment".
So I guess we must be absolutely, certainly, unambiguously, unequivocally and most positively at odds.

Yes Fernando.. We are, and have been, BUT Unless provocted, then I will not stoop to telling everyone the reasons..., although you seem to really want me to lay it all out there, as you keep snipping back and forth when I asked you to let things the way they are... I am not trying to embarass anyone, or cause anyone trouble... So lets leave it as it is..

I concur: it is sad, that you are sure that others agree with you. Delusional conditions are pathetic.

I DO know how you act at the border. You have proudly written how you smart off to the officers, demand special treatment because you are but one of 330 million Americans, call US government employees little pricks and whip out your sheepskin while you braggadociosly flag it.

If you can tear yourself away from spending time calling other Nomads drunks and mean, try looking up the term Ugly American.

# 1 Gull you don't know the entire situation... YOU do a good job with that quote feature.. BUT do a favor and when you quote me, put it in context with complete quote!

The time at the border I was talking about, I was NOT rude to start out with.. the agent she was a lady was VERY rude... she asked me tons of questions.. BUT what got me, was Where am I going, and WHY... my response to her was... I am a citizen of this country I do not have to tell anyone where I plan to go in it... (this was well after I produced my american passport and already answered all her other questions... There could be no doubt that i was american) she immediatly got even more of an atitude then the fat guy next to her started chiming in and she smirked and said are you in a hurry , i said yes,,, she said oh too bad your going to secondary.. (complete abuse of power!! I had already prooved that i was an american citizen allowed to enter my own country) finally the supervisor came, and he was amazing rude and smart elicky!!! He just laughed at me and told me I had no rights when crossing the border (thanks prez) that "maybe the liberal college I attended and flunked out of taught me diffrent" (Thats what made me respond with my ""sheepskin"" as you say.. the guy was so insulting , unprofessional, and rude... This Government empooyee, public servent!

I have never asked to get special treatment... If special treatment in the USA is to get treated with respect by our own servants, then its a sad time... I stand in line like everyone else.. produce my passport, and answer appropriate questions... like where I have been , why in mexico etc... ( i feel a little uncomfortable with them, but they make more sence than Where I am going and why) so fo you to say I am a nasty American is offensive.,... I am certanly not.... Only when I feel that people go too far! And I am especially NOT a nasty American within other country's.. I don't go around like others expecting americanized surroundings, american homes.. complain everytime something isntl like it is in america... I live and have lived amounst mexicans for several years... and have NEVER been called a nasty American

Gull.. just because you feel the government has the rights and we do not.. thats OK for you.. I disagree but that too is OK... Just don't be nasty... if you want to have a grown up, adult , healthy debate, thats cool! BUt those usually don't involve the words you use, and the jabs you keep making... PLEASE remember that America is Great because we are diffrent...and because of our rights (that are slowly going away) so please don't demean me, or persecute me for those ideas!

I appologise for calling anyone a Drunk.. I only know a few people on here personally so I cannot say all are drunks, nor do I think it... I was in defense mode, and should not have stooped to the level of others on here!

Hey Guy? You claim to ''not'' have a tude, and then you claim you were ''NOT rude to start out.''

If I could offer some advice here, and nothing new as a lot of good advice has been given but for some reason -- you continue, at least to me, to have a healthy ''tude'' about your rights as a US citizen.

If a border Officer asks you questions, just answer them, politely. If they are rude, be polite back. If the questions sound stupid, answer them anyway. Keep your answers polite and short. When answering questions, especially questions you might consider stupid and personal, and coming from a rude ''public servant,'' try to save your judgment for after you've crossed the border, then open your window, while driving on the freeway, and just vent to no one in particular. Get all that anger or judgment or whatever is going on for you -- just get it out. In fact, it would be better to get it out BEFORE you deal with the border Officers.

Wanting to be treated ''special'' (as in ''I'm a US citizen and have rights,'' or, ''You can't talk to me like that -- I was born in the US!'') doesn't apply at border crossings. No one there is on your side.

Since US citizens have no rights at the border, relatively speaking, just be humble and smile and be courteous and polite. It'll make life a lot easier for you.

As for Gull? Gull doesn't like Nomads and I'm positive your posts irritate him/her to no end. Come over to OT and take Gull on. Everybody else does.

Gee. Guy? You're NOT delusional. Just be ''mellow'' when you deal with anyone with a badge, and you'll come out better than if you were NOT mellow. Trust me on this.

A private messege from GULL

Message: I have a life. It seems of the two of us, yours is much worse off.

When using the term, "everyones spelling" you need to remember to put in the apostrophe on "everyone's". You really should sue that school that mailed you that fake diploma. Who filled out the application for you to get it?

What a stupid person you are to think that anyone actually would believe a person who says they carry their college degree in their pocket. You are even more a stupid person if you actually do carry it around and show it off.

You asked for a debate and now it is not worth your time? Loser is the only term that truly fits you for that move.

I wish you more bad border crossings in the future. I know you will have them without my wish, as you are so steeped in self pity, anger, feeling of inadequacy and smallness, you bristle at all images of authority. A bad childhood would have that affect.

Don't bother to respond as I don't have the time to read more bad English."

I never asked for a debate... thats whats funny, is you go looking and think just because someone has other views than you that they want a Heated, mean debate.. well please quote me asking for a debate...

You are a mean old fool, and I hope you find happiness in this world!!

The majority of us just put up with the bad spelling because we generally see it as a typo.
I see no point in nit-picking a spelling error just to embarras the poster, regardless of who that person is.

Well.. it may be the internet, BUT when I joined i thought it was a community.. NOW i know it is NOT.. it is just a site where people can be mean to other and hide behind the internet... I thought it was a place for baja related people to get together and talk, etc... Like other forums... I see its not.. I have been told by many other people that this forum is FULL OF HATRED AND VENOM!!!

Poor taste.. NO the poor taste is the message that was written to me.. Just because it was private.. so what ?? I would agree if it was omeone telling me something.. but when one is nasty to me in any form, they loose my respect and trust so thats why I posted it...

No, its NOT just about me.. The BIGGER PICTURE is that ALL americans will loose more and more rights if we don't stand up and stop it now... It has nothing to do with obama or Mcain.. Its An American thing... it's a respect thing.. SO they can protect me and mine WITHOUT being rude and without taking all my rights... If people wish to keep blinders and and be led with a leash and just listen to what they are told.. THEN FINE.. but don't expect all of us to, or we will eventually be in a dictatorship!
