I am more interested in why you you keep persuing this. Obviously the majority here do not like to jump up to turn down their blaring speakers because
you might want to embed the sound of a Trophy Truck driving by.
So you take a poll which in turn reflects a general consensus although it seems to me you are just waiting for Doug to decide.
So is this whole exercise a grand waste of all of our time?
Let it go man.
Sharksbaja "For the the record" I am not waiting for anyone to decide anything. I think it pretty much has been decided by the majority. Which is ok
with me. Thank you for your input.

If you give me the permission I promise to remove it at your request after I embed it if you do not like it.
1. Yes Elinvesti8 I give you my expressed permission to embed sounds into any thread I generate here on Baja Nomad with the understanding you will
delete it if I do not like it.
2. No Elinvesti8 I do not give you my permission to embed sounds into a thread I generate here on Baja Nomad.
Please log on and cut and paste the one that you wish.
Thank You

Mmmmm, maybe the solution is to leave it big enough for someone to see it so they can turn it off if they want to when it is in autoplay leaving the
Volume turned low so it does not blast them out of their chair when they open up the thread.
If it's not against the rules, then I guess there's nothing I can say one way or the other. How do you embed music anyway? How is it done?

Just add one of these in the thread you start. Probably best to use the manualplay instead of the autoplay.

I find them irritating, to say the least.

There you go. Let's have a tutorial so we're all able to embedd music anywhere.
Now that should make for a lot of fun.

While I could be mistaken, I do not believe there is a "manualplay" variable. It's either autoplay=1 (on)
or autoplay=0 (off; default). As =0 is the default, if there's no "autoplay=1" variable included, the item will not autoplay - it'll be up to the
user to hit the "play" button for the item.
btw... the proper setting on this board would be autoplay=0 (off), allowing users to decide yes or no. Otherwise it's clearly "objectionable
material".

Perhaps we also need a manual view, autoview=0 (off), on all posts because having text automatically pop up without the member's consent would be
objectionable as well?

You should take this to mean,
"NO noise without consent."

Right.
If you objected to text, would you be here ?
What would you do here ?
Are you still here ?

Thank you very much for the update.
.
I think that is what he is saying. Isn't that why he is asking out permission? The only thing I see wrong is that when we opt out on our own posts,
the embedded sound still comes up on others' posts when we open them.

Ooooohhhhh "loop=" variable. Now your talking!
Knew you were into this big time.. but, good, but good, and looking forward to your contributions.. this is a fun medium... go for it... I can always
turn it down or off..
Question, will one be able to comment and or vote on your choice of "embed media"??as that seems like it would be a LOT of fun !!!......
Being that everyone agrees on what "good music" and/or "good special effects" and/or "Art" ..
However, artist have to have a thick skin to do anything along these lines, right.. You as an artist, "put your heart on your sleeve".. as, if they
don't like you they "boo", "throw things", "talk about your mother", just plain ignore your work.. oh, that's right this is the internet.. but, I
know there are some other artists out there.. and I would welcome their thoughts on this subject..
