You can just call Discover Baja and do your credit card transaction by phone as some of us have done. They will walk you through it.

While Discover Baja will not turn you away if you call, as was announced here, they were collecting funds through close-of-business on Thursday. Anything they get now may not reach the family for some time, as the rest of the donations have already been received by the family.

BTW... Carol @ DB told me there were 22 donations through Discover Baja.

Fernando's planning to return to Tijuana later this evening and Christine Hoff should be in Ensenada by now. I'd imagine that starting tomorrow there will be someone else designated to be the recipient via Western Union in Ensenada. It also depends on if/what/when the decisions for Ron will be as of tomorrow.

Oh,

I've mentioned it to some people I've spoken with.... but want to also point out to everyone....

With Discover Baja taking your credit card donations over the phone, and turning around and donating the cash dollar-for-dollar - after the cost of credit card transactions to the merchant - Discover Baja has absorbed hundreds of dollars in fees with all of this. That, combined with the time Carol and the staff spent here, and they've made considerable contributions that could easily be overlooked... and I wanted to give a little more spotlight to them for their efforts to assist with the situation.

Thank you again to Discover Baja for having no hesitation in saying "yes" when assistance was requested.

Super cool.

They were very nice when I called. Took two minutes. Good on them!

Discover Baja was quick and painless in helping Ron & Cristine. Carol handled it very professionally and cordially. Give 'em a round of applause.

I've always liked being a member for the comfort and no-hustle atmosphere of thier business in an easy-to-find location. (even Co-pilot found it....AND their tree.)

Fishing licenses, tourist visas for passengers, permits for this and that, good rate on insurance, great Baja books, delicious free coffee and fat-free doughnut.

Tell em Roger sent you...and I get another doughnut!

i too was very impressed with how Carol jumped into the fray with no hesitation and appreciate their donation as well..she was very polite and professional when I called her as well....(unlike another person I had the misfortune of calling to ask for some help from another agency who was quite rude.)

anyway...just talked to sirena who is on her way to the hospital again hopefully to wave goodbye to the family on their way out...she was there till late last night and is happy the family is together and making a plan.

I want to express a huge amount of gratitude to those of you who responded and went to the hospital, lizard lips, dennis, ferna, sirenita, angel, and others who made time to go down there...and of course all of you who prayed and contributed time & $$ to assist ron & cristina in their time of need....lets keep it up kids....have a wonderful day nomads.

We stopped in yesterday on our way out of Baja...Ron was sleeping but we left him a picture that Erin had drawn for him - a guardian angel.
Happy to hear that Ron and Cristina are together and on their way to full recoveries. Amazing bunch of Nomads here, folks.
Continued to prayers....

spill it Shari. we need to know who we're dealing with!

every situation that arises here is met with a new group of Angels responding at a moments notice. Ron and Cristina are just the latest to receive the blessings of Nomads.....

for as much acrimony that arises here, i'm still glad to know all y'alls.... and that includes everyone. the sandbox wouldn't be the same without Nomads....

Well said, Sr. Woooosh.
When I saw Ron all battered in that bed, a couple of recollections of my own life flashed before my eyes. It was like looking in an old mirror.
Oh well.....still here to laugh about it.
