Wind and seas are building...never seen it like this! Really Rad! Boy do I love all the rocks in front here as they are protecting us by breaking up the waves so only spray gets to us. I'm blowing goodbye kisses to the palapa as it is slowly disappearing.
High tide will be around 1 in the morning and again tomorrow afternoon when the swells might be REALLY monstrous...stay safe everyone...dont try to cross arroyos.

A squall blew on shore in TJ a few hours ago. I've NEVER seen it rain so hard, anywhere, ever. Solid water for about 10 minutes. Very windy and dry now. Just walked out to the ocean bluff, had to lean into the wind to keep stationary. Pretty wild!!

I'm ready for all this to stop.

We ran into people coming south and there are several road closures with hours of wait. Many deep arroyos with four feet of water. So it seems the worst of it may be from Catavina to TJ as far as road conditions. Marla.

We are getting ABSOLUTELY HAMMERED by winds that I would estimate occasionally exceed 60 mph right now! This is in the Guaymas/San Carlos area.

Still no rain to speak of but the Wundermap of this area is showing some large storm cells headed this way.

It's gonna be some morning. I suspect that some boats may have come off their moorings in Bahia San Carlos and may be on the rocks. Many people in there right now, living on their boats.

Rain starting in earnest here, now.

One unusual aspect of this storm: it's 69 degrees right now before daybreak. Must be riding the Pineapple Express in.

morning amigos...it was a long rough night. For the first time, I saw our roof lifting off....yikes...so we tied diving weights and dumbells onto the joists in the middle...taped the windows and hoped for the best. It rained hard during the night and there were some puddles in the house this morning but we still have a roof and all our windows.

The big fishing boats that sought refuge in the bay had a hard time dragging anchor and rockin and rollin in the big waves.
Gotta go pick up palm leaves....its' partly sunny right now and the swell is getting bigger...some spectacular splashes on our rocks out front....hope everyone is safe.

Thanks LN... That means the Mision Santa Maria Road bog (after the Widowmaker) may be very wet next month!

Last night here in Oceanside (5 miles inland), we had 'sideways rain' the wind was so strong! It is now raining again (8:45 am Friday).

And in Borrego, as well. Frank's PWS down at Canebrake says they got 3.25 inches.
