I'd accept the 2K as a current guesstimate. There has been a 76% decline in ex-pats in the past two years. I have no idea where they went. Maybe
they are measuring expats differently too. For sure many more expats do not have a visa. It is a $100 pia to get every year and no one ever asks to
see it. I think the 12,000 number was back in the day- when they were planning to finish and sell all those coastal communities and rusting skeletons
along the Baja Norte coast. There probably are that many new/planned residential units for expats should they come. Mengano would know. This is why
I miss the posting, although you do have to play nice in the sandbox to stay and contribute. He didn't come here for acceptance of any kind imho.

I don't know about that. I've never seen a newbie get abused who put together a thoughtful, factual, cohesive post. If people aren't used to posting
hyperlinks to back the thoughts and "facts" expressed in their posts, perhaps they should have lurked a little longer. There are some big
personalities and you have to "dance with porcupines" at times. I've been lumped up more than a few times. So what? That's what expressing
opinions is about. The difference is in personal conduct. When a heated topic ceases to be productive I will usually "agree to disagree" with the
person and disengage. I post to relax and see what others are up to. When it stops being fun, I just walk away. Post your opinions until it stops
being fun to read the responses. It's just the internet silly. lol
