People sometimes forget how much others worry when they don't check in. I know that once in Asuncion we were waiting for the researcher who stayed
with us and so were some other people in BA. We all expected him on a certain day.
Well, he was delayed by some interesting plants, great terrain, and beautiful camping spots. He felt really bad that we were all worried about him.
It is a mixed bag --- freedom as an adult to come and go as one chooses vs. consideration of the feelings of those who care enough to worry.
I also put the flyer on my facebook page and sure hope it was not needed!
