Yes Tajo, please do. We still have some business to conclude on this trail ride and it's getting a bit cluttered.
We are hoping that more Baja Offroaders will sign on by checking out this thread, and can figure out what it's about.

Sounds like you do some serious foot travel around Baja, I'm very impressed.

Berrendo Canyon

I was so impressed with Berrendo when Jide and I went there in 2004, I took Baja Angel there in 2006: http://vivabaja.com/106/page3.html

There is a mile hike from where the road ends to the giant boulder grotto... more blue palms than most other canyons...

Here is the grotto and giant boulder behind me:

If you guys decide to do Berrendo instead of Agua Caliente, then the drive is 12 miles shorter (round trip)... However, you will have a mile walk for sure... where as Agua Caliente might have a road all the way to the springs now...

Photos also at Shell Island, BajaRob's place, Sulfur Mine, Parral/Azufre Wash and Berrendo at http://vivabaja.com/106

OK EVERYONE,

Only 10 days until our trail ride

So far we have attending commitments from:
BajaCat
BajaWarrior
SquareCircle
Gadget
Neal Johns

Who else?

Hear is our firm plan: (until it gets changed) :D
Head for SF on Saturday AM. Carravan leaves El Cajon Trolley station at Main and Marshall at 7:45 AM if you are interested.

Arrive at BajaWarrior house south of town, turn at entrance drive for Playa Santa Maria, turn left at end of drive to Chucks house. Too easy!

Saturday is open, do what you want.

Chuck has offered to host a BBQ on Saturday. Bring what you want to grill and drinks. Any special sides you are famous for also. He will have Shrimp and we will all pitch in for that. We should start fiesta by dusk.

Sunday up at day break for cruise out Azufre wash / El Parral, explore Agua Calliente, Ranch Matomi Oasis or both, back down Matomi wash. Any one is welcome to join us. Speeds will be so all can keep up and enjoy the scenery ( no I will not drive off and leave everyone ). 4wd, good tires etc are recommended. Refer to body of this thread for info.

Sunday evening, dinner in town at your favorite location, I enjoy supporting the local economy, back to BWs place to tell lies until when ever.

Monday, head for the border of your choice when you feel like it.

Of course all of this is subject to change once the group is together.

Please U2U me if you are not on the above list and will be going so I can get the info to Chuck for the Shrimp purchase. Leave contact info also

Thanks everyone

Chelo's, Km. 35

Local economy... confirm if Chelo's or Marina's will be open for dinner in Ejido Delicias, just 4 kms. south of the Bahia Santa Maria road... Great food!

My 2 seater rig is full, can't speak for others. That would entail leaving the group heading East down Matomi. Meet us at BajaWarriors place on Saturday and see what happens.

If you want to meet more Nomads, don't forget the Nomads Golf Tournament, April 5 at the Baja Country Club in Ensenada. See the post on the BN board.

TRIP MAP: MATOMI 2008

I made up a map of the area using topos and adding roads that were not in the topo and adding the milages along roads that I have traveled, some of them will be utilized for Matomi 2008.

Because Baja Nomad requires images under 50 kbs, this map you see is not easy to use... So, please u2u me with your email address if you want a HIGH resolution of this map!

The map is posted on the Baja Off Road Forum, because there is no 'browse' feature on this forum...

Click here to see map: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=29718

I forgot to mention, as the BajaWarriors have 3 kids, that kids are of corse welcome.

We were hoping our son and girl friend would be able to come but both are committed at work over that weekend.

If you are, please U2U me so I can get head count info to BW for the shrimp.

Thanks

I plan on meeting up with the group in Valle Chico and think a couple other Nomads will be with me. This saves a bunch of early travel for us from Norht of San Felipe. I monitor Marine 74 when I'm in the house in SF. Not sure if the wife will be with me but I'm sure there will be other women exploring with us that day.

That's great Bajalou,

You all are certainly welcome to come join us for our surf and turf BBQ Saturday evening if you're in town. See previous posts for the scoop on that.

Thanks for the invite - I've missed a bunch of posts as I've been traveling with VERY limited internet access (and very slow). I'll see if I can make that alos.
