All due respect to all parties....I think most of you have valid arguments. I just don't get the personal attacks.

Time for dinner.

i think it is the many years of past history between dk and others -- dk has been hyper-critical and is the most blovial poster here, so he has lots of "fans" that like to debate with him.

That is not really the whole story, but whatever... I am not hyper critical, but what floors them, is that when they post their agenda (liberal) here, I am not affraid to offer another side (libertarian or conservative).

It is hyper rare for me to ever START a political thread.... What is common is that I respond, and it is only to show another view on the subject, not to put anyone down. The goal of the left is to silence any opposition, so the masses only hear their side... Why else the put down of Fox News, Consrvative Radio, etc.? If they were truly an open-minded group with free speech in mind, they would welcome all sides and let the people decide.

Thing is - I don't consider myself to be one of the others. I just understand them and pick up their banner. Then I end up on my own.

I just heard on one of the Radio sites that will remain a secret that 1 in 30 in the USA has a clinical mental problem, most mild but some serious, and each manifests itself in strange ways. So, tolerance is not only desirable, but absolutely necessary in this rapid communication era that we now find ourselves in to just get along, let alone actually communicate effectively with each other.

Makes sense, to me, anyway.

I think somebody said, "can't we just get along?"

Now that is a strange statement for me right there--------if ANYBODY does not play the "victim" it's David K. We perceive things so differently. :o

For centuries a Mexican would have thought you crazy to call a turkey a pavo. The word pavo caught on in Bajas Californias, but replacing guajolote took until just recently on the mainland. Many now refer to a barnyard turkey as pavo and free range turkey as guajolote. Being from Arizona, you must be familar with I-19. One of the cross highways is named Palo Parado. A good slang term for hard-0n. On I-5 in California are two highways named Panocha or Panoche. A word you do not want to use in Mixed Company in Mexico.

BTW: Seemingly a thousand zonas urbanos in Mexico have been nick-named Cachanilla or cachania. If you make a spelling error the locals are very forgiving. The cachanilla I was referring to is Sta Rosalia BCS.

Paz Amigo

Little bit further North on I-5 is a town called Los Banos......

BTW the Panoche VOR attracts lots of pilots, mostly male ones.....

What's going on here?

I edited my prior post just a few minutes ago (4-22-2012) and not tomorrow (4-23-2012)

Is BN moving that fast ahead?

Barry,

They are continuously narrowing what is normal. Mental problems were considerd personality traits. Winston Churchill had ADD. Albert Einstein was autistic. I've been painfully shy all my life. Stagefright at piano concerts. Scared of my students. Now I read it's some sort of social neurosis. I think things are going to far. How do you define normal.

A few here find DK's delivery slightly abrasive,
a quote comes to mind, not many of us here 'could
carry his jockstrap' regarding experience and knowledge
of at least the northern half of the Peninsula,
everyone has a different tenor

I am not sure there is any "normal" anymore, like you say.

For me, I try to stay on top of any particular "condition" by just admitting to myself that it is temporary, and I will feel different later---------and it always turns out true.

I find that amazing, but truly comforting, and enables me to maintain some semblence of sanity, I believe. (and I often think I am going insane).

Barry,

I like what you wrote and it makes sense. Somewhere in my 50's I lost the shyness. I guess I'm cured.

Yes but not many would self promote their own jock strap?
That is the problem.

Baja knowledge is great, when asked for. It just gets old all of the "ME ME ME, self promotion!"

..... then why are you here???
just wondering,
if all the posts on this board must be in response to an "asked for" then this board will be pretty meaningless, IMO
