Just off the phone with Score office.
Pre-running starts March 1st for the 250, so we will not have any issues with our trail ride course.

Gadget or BajaRob, let 'steekers' know that the Score map is still not online. FYI on race-dezert.com they said Sal Fish was in Matomi canyon today, as he called out on the sat phone from there. I would guess that they are using the route that they intended to use last year before the race was moved to Ensenada... Which means that the run in Azufre Wash and Matomi Wash will be the SAME direction as your tour caravan...

Of interest, saw some racer trailers heading north the past few days!

You guys have a great time... wish we could be there too!

Rumor has it (Tony T) that the route will be from Morelia Jct to Matomi on the roads, down Matomi, up Chanote and down Huatamote. Time will tell if the rumors are true or not.

Going to be great fun folks! Who else???

Looks like some fine Baja ladies need Nomad handles?? :bounce:

Now we need a Baja offroader gal and her rig and we really got something going on here. Ladies???

Looks like a great group that's getting together for this offroad adventure. My wife Audrey and I enjoyed the trip four years ago. Bring warm clothes for night-time.

Audrey said to tell the girls "Please make sure you bring a sports bra for the offroading! You'll be glad you did!"

Have fun - can't wait to see the trip report. We just could not make it this year.

Thats one of the 6 or so rumors I've heard. Not too concerned with the route other than I wanted to scout a couple of spots for our pit, but since the map will not be out yet, someone else will do it later.

My main concern was if pre-running was going to start this early and that we may be going backwards on course for part of our trail ride. Not the case so no worries.

Steekers plans on joining you on his m/c, so please let him put a can in someone's pick up (BajaCat?)... Have fun... Don't forget to take good photos, specually of the hot springs if you get up there.

Saw The squarecircle (Roy) and Blanche last night at Discover Baja... they are not only ready to go... they may even continue south to work on La Turquesa Canyon, since Ken and those Jeeps didn't get anywhere in it!

Who left the door open?

52 this AM on my patio, now (9am) only 60 deg. What a change from 2-3 days ago.

Bring some warm clothes - unless you're from Canada, then just wear shorts.

It's raining lightly here in Oceanside today (started last night as a heavy drizzle)... They say it will dry out and be great through the weekend! Hope the same holds true for you guys!

Previous President's Day Weekends in San Felipe/ Nuevo Mazatlan:

In 2001, it was overcast on Saturday, but sunny on Sunday... okay temps.

In 2004, it was freezing cold both nights but sunny and nice both days.

In 2007, it was windy with okay temps.

I think it's going to be pretty nice. The wind should lay down by Friday night.

Prediction: highs in the low 70s, lows, near the sea, in the upper 40s.

ATTN MATOMI GROUP !!!!!

AS OF 7:30 THIS AM, I-8 IS STILL CLOSED EASTBOUND DUE TO SNOW.

Here is a link to check. Put I-8 in the blank.

If you get an internal error, try again. I think it's being deluged this AM. Many road closures in SD this AM.
