Isn't it obvious, they were 49 of the 50 alleged carjackings between El Rosario and Guerro Negro which were "reported" by a newbie on another thread. Oh and the UFOs were seen in the area.

I saw the Phantom U-Haul exiting the Mexican border at San Ysidro at 4:00 PM on 3-30-2009. It kept appearing and disappearing. What a sight!

Uhaul sighting!!

Mija and g-kids and I were well on our way driving up Hwy.1 headed for Juncalito for four days of relaxing and island beach partaking.(coming from El Tule, outside of Cabo). We rounded a corner and there were flashing lights and a huge ambulance- type of truck, people out in the road waving other cars around the calamity. There were two pick-up trucks, both grayish in color,in the south bound lane. The one in front was full of stuff, barrels and things covered with tarps. The second truck was crushed under the back of the first, from front of truck to back of cab.Weirdest thing !!How in the world could that happen!??It looked like the first truck was stopped and the #2 truck just rammed into and under it.So we are slowly going by/around this head-shaker when Isaw a U-Haul truck on the other side of the road, about 6 ft off the shoulder and in the grass/weeds.No one appeared to be in the U-haul, but it was RIGHT next to this accident and appeared to not have been involved. It too,was headed South. We spent four days in Juncalito and on our way back, there was no sign of the U-Haul. At the scene there were people standing in small groups, just talking, it seemed.Didn't feel like there was an emergency or an urgency situation, but we did not stop so no real way to tell.Has anyone seen or heard about the Uhaul recently? Anybody see this incident??? It was just plain WEIRD!!:?::O (this took place just south of Santa Rita)sorry no photo, wrong posting section, dunno how to move it!

That U-Haul truck may just be the greatest threat to nomads on the peninsula. Karmic payback.

Looks like the accident was much more serious. I think this might be the accident you are referring to.

Two people died in car accidents during Holy Week, including the 06 to April 12, 2009.

The second kind collision between vehicle accident happened at 06:00 hours on April 10, 2009, in the 124 kilometer stretch of road Cabo San Lucas-Todos Santos, Baja California Sur.

There was killed Fernando Narciso Gonzalez, 23 years old, the impact on the rear of a vehicle Pick-Up, Toyota, Red, 1984 model, led by Alberto Garcia Soto, 47 years old.

These were the only two car accidents during Holy Week, the official concluded.

Well that is good news that only two accidents were reported. We were on the road on the 8th however, and it was not between Cabo and Todos Santos. It was after La Paz, headed North.Funny, we saw two pretty knarley accidents that day.Maybe that day wasn't considered a part of Holy Week or maybe they were not reported????

There is an older (1980s)box truck with faded U Haul colors and no lettering at The Serenidad Hotel. I took a double take when I first saw it. No sign of JWs.
It is for sale and there is a poster in Saul's window.:o

That sounds like the one we saw.Why and how would it be in the middle of BFE during Easter Week and parked in the middle of a bunch of grass/weeds, right next to a serious accident???When did you see it last Tony? :?:
