Blue skies and COLD in Playas de Tijuana this morning. We had two baby pea sized hail storms yesterday, one when I ducked out to walk the dogs, that was a chilling experience.

Glad I have a good sized propane heater in my concrete block house. These places get stone cold.

Drove to the border and back twice last night to pick up and later drop off a friend from San Diego. No problems, 2nd Street eastbound, border highway westbound.

Intermitant showers and blue skys here. Next event is scheduled for Tuesday but, it doesn't sound bad. As long as the wind doesn't whistle, we'll be OK.

Welcome back Pta.Bandians...Dennis...please pick me for your "A" team too!!! I hate being left out.

Last night was another wild one but only gale force winds with some driving rain. It's sunny this morning and the swell is a tiny bit smaller today but still impressive and the temps dropped...dang chilly now. Everyone's roofs and windows are fine...just a few puddles in some houses from rain coming through windows and doors.

OK...Couldn't find anybody to verify so I went up there. The road is a little messy but, I made it with my two-wheel pickup. I wouldnt want to try it with my Ferrari.
Couldn't find anybody to chat with so I checked electric meters and they're working.
So, Tim, your freezer has dodged a bullet and life is good.

Dennis,

Dern and Carter left Los Osos this morning at 7am, heading your direction. I'm glad to hear that the roads are ok right now and that he has a two day window to de-mud our house.

Jamee sent me some photos, I'll post them later, although you could drive over tomorrow with a cold sixer and supervise the labor. I'd like a full report, por favor!

Hurray for sunshine.

This photo at 9AM this morning shows a break in the clouds looking east toward Maneadero. Still a few small showers hovering around the bay of Ensenada.

A few broken windows and some minor water damage reported around the Punta Banda Puerto Escondido 'hood here. Mostly it was a water hassle due to rains coming in horizontally. Now towels are drying on lines in partial sunshine.

We are very spoiled when we whine about not having telly or internet.

Dennis, my coffee usually brews at 06:00 daily. Either you didn't smell it or it was overwhelmed by Prema2's fish odor wafting uphill to my kitchen.
KIDDING. Sent him a note and all should be OK.

My freezer stuff was still in the 80% frozen stage last night when power was restored at 19:00. I know about the frozen stage, because I was thawing pork shoulder in front of my fireplace for Pizza on the barby.

Hope nomads are safe, dry and warm.

Just hear from friends headed north.

They barely made it into SAN QUINTIN yesterday with water over the tires in some vados.
They've no choice but to wait it out as bridges are washed out south of Ensenada.

How far south did the storm hit---sorry if someone already said, but I did not read all the pages.

Did it go as far south as San Ignacio?

Thanks

Thought about stopping by, Doc. Just didn't want to press my luck on the hills. You must have had some really badass wind up there. I noticed the first house at the gate had their rain-gutters blown right off the house and scattered around. I could tell by looking the hooks/hangers were broken off.
Can't see any mountain top Sierra snow in your foto. Must have been too warm although Mike said he got a couple inches up by the Observatory.
Oh well...Stay dry, Doc. I mean that only in a weather sense, of course.

How Far South---Storm

How much further south than Bahia Asuncion did the storm reach? Did it reach San Ignacio? Did it cross to the Cortez side?

Thanks, trying to make some plans.

Canīt wait for the wild flowers!
