If it was a waste of your time why did you work there? Did you not learn something that helped you later or a skill that helped you. I don't think any
job is a waste of time, it is a learning experience to be used to further your education or job experience. I worked a lot of jobs growing up and each
helped me decide on what I wanted to do with my life.
I learned never to use drugs. One of the guys on my shift started using Methamphetamine. He offered me some, but I told him, "That's cool, no
thanks." He came to work full of pep at first. Then, the rings under his eyes became larger over time. He was the most burned out McDonalds
employee in Mira Loma!
My Manager named Howard used to bark orders at us guys like we were all in Vietnam. That is, until a glob of boiling hot oil popped in his eye - he
was sent to the Hospital and went on Disability. Moral of the story - Don't follow orders without protective gear.
The greatest thing that I learned was to get myself an Education. I was listening to my angry Punk Rock music and decided it was time to get a Mohawk
(Fro-hawk, in my case), and I quit my job. The Management was real nice, and at first refused to let me go, but after a meeting with my Parents, we
all decided it was time for me to quit my job.
One of the groups I listened to DAILY from 1983-1985 that really shaped how I saw the world.
Slaving in a factory
a differnt kind of insanity
Feels like I'm locked in a cage
Working like a maniac
give myself a heart attack
For a job that pays minimum wage
My first permanent job with the Govt. in l967 paid GROSS $5,290 PER YEAR salary as a Permanent Full time Buck-Ranger in Grand Canyon Natl. Park. We
loved it, but it was tough financially--------I scrambled and worked 10+ hours a day, and after 5 years was making tripple that and life was good.
It always pays to work hard, and pay attention to detail.
I flipped hamburghers at Jack-in-the-box for about a year while married with 2 kids (wife did not work) and I was in school , and even enjoyed that.
Before the year was out I was Asst. Manager of the place on the night shift. Most of the employees were students, and were happy, and the boss pretty
much let us choose our schedules to suit our school hours-----I don't even remember what it paid, but it put food on the table, and paid for gas, and
that was all that was really important. I decided that the Boss worked entirely too hard (14 hours a day for 6 days a week) for his big-bucks, and
decided it was not worth it to lazy me, and chose another road to "success".
What a bunch of slackers....I started working at 12 yrs old tossing papers. I guess maybe earlier since I used to mow all the neighbors' lawns before
that. At 14 got my first real job at a nearby gourmet deli. Then in high school I worked myself in a job at Charles Schwab and was on my way to
becoming the youngest broker in the company until the bubble popped and everyone started pointing fingers at the other guy....looks like things have
not changed much since then.

#12 of 27 Not happy with my 2011 by dwarfl0rd

I just bought my 2011 crew cab long bed 4x4 in February 2011 and it now has 2100 miles and rust spots all over the frame and other places underneath.
On top of that, I tried to haul about 20 bags of mulch and the truck's bed bottomed out on the bumper guards just over the leaf springs. This isn't a
truck. They call this a truck?! Its supposed to handle 12xx lbs of payload, and can't even manage 800lbs. Not only that it is already rusting on the
frame. I had a Mazda tribute for 11 years with one area of rust between the body panel and door and this tacoma rusts within 2 months of purchase on
the FRAME and weld joints! Ridiculous. I had a '97 tacoma with "0" problems. I have 2 major problems with this car in the first 2 months of ownership.
I'm not real happy paying $30k for these headaches. Toyota lost a long term customer ('97 taco, '02 Corolla, '04 Camry, '08 Sienna and now this '11
Tacoma Junk).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma as well. I have 105,000 miles on it. I just lost all of my transmission fluid because the steel tubing from the
transmission that runs to the radiator rusted out. I've also replaced the alternator and the AC quit working and needs $1900.00 worth of work to fix
it. I'm not happy and the Toyota dealer just wants a lot of money to fix everything.

My 2005 Tacoma with 75,000 miles has the same problem with the frame rusting. Internet searches show this to be an all too common problem. A post in
the tundrasolutions.com forums gave the following info: Not to rehash an old thread but I have an 05 DC Tacoma and have had a rust problem since about
07-08. I have call Toyota twice and this time actually got some valuable information. In ... Read More

We are having problems with our 2005 toyota Tacoma. We went to the dealership to check the check light on and the worker saw frame rusted through.
What can be done?? Who do we call? The rust ate a hole through this!

For years I have not understood why people line up to buy these absolute pieces of junk.
I've even read where guys can't wait for Toyota to buy their junk truck so they can buy
ANOTHER ONE. For Gods sake wake up and realize Toyota has been lying to its customers for years. Try buying an American truck !
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well boxdin: You are clearly the epitome of ignorance.
First off, the Toyota frame problem was a result of their AMERICAN frame supplier... DANA.
Second, Toyota trucks (Tacoma and Tundra) are made in.... you got it... AMERICA. Specifically, they are mostly made in San Antonio TX.

I needed to get my 2003 Tacoma truck inspected and discovered it’s rusted everywhere......I have lost my spare tire(rust) My Fuel tank has a hole in
it and the support arms that hold the gas tank are practically rusted off! The bed has a hole through it! The frame is weak every where. Toyota says
they had a deadline for the recall of 12/31/11
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not to rehash an old thread but I have an 05 DC Tacoma and have had a rust problem since about 07-08. I have call Toyota twice and this time actually
got some valuable information. In order for Toyota to actually look into a problem they have to notice a trend of calls with complaints. they review
the nature of the complaint and what vehicle it was noted on. Please if you have a 2005 or newer Tacoma with a rust problem please call and
complain...you don't have to be an *ss just let them know the problem you are having. If they have a lot of calls they will look into it and hopefully
do something like they did with the 2000-04 models.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I did a search on www.arfc.org which is the site where vehicle complaints are compiled to the NHTSA. I searched "Frame Rust". In the first 10 pages of search
results I found the breakdown of complaints by manufacturer:
GM - 2
Isuzu - 5
Honda - 9
Kia - 1
Subaru - 1
Ford - 9
Nissan - 10
Toyota - 63
Fully over 60% of the complaints were for Toyota products. Over 3 million Tacomas and Tundras were sold in the last 12 Years. Toyota has been dealing
with this problem by buying back and destroying / or re-framing these trucks to the tune of approx $13,000 per vehicle.
3 million times $13,000 equals $39 billion. Current Toyota yearly profit is approx $5 billion, so that their liability for these defective frames is
equal to about 8 years of profit. I predict their policy of taking responsibility for these rusty trucks will end within a year or two. If I owned
their stock I would sell it soon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Purchased my '05 Tacoma new. The underside still looks like the day it came from the dealer.
Park it outside in the Oregon rain, too. Only problem that I have had was when a squirrel ate through the "new and improved" non-plastic wire harness
under the hood.

I don't believe many live in the surf area. Just a couple of complaints from the beach area. The Dana-produced frames seem troublesome - at best.
