New Podcast about Baja Travel and the Missions

Recently, I was invited to talk about the missions for the California Frontier Project. The podcast was published yesterday and the video chat is on YouTube

Here is the full podcast/ video (65 min): https://youtu.be/1BfKj41VBG8?si=J91eQMIeZx_mJK3S

While I am no longer printing new copies, there are still some available from Sunbelt Publications from the revised, 2024 printing, as well as on Amazon.

Thank you for your years of support on this project. I had no idea it would be so well received, with 14 printings, some revisions of photos and driving directions, from 2016 to 2024.

This was a revised and expanded edition of our 2012 book The Old Missions of Baja & Alta California.
The Old Missions of the Californias book was created in 2020, with Max Kurillo sold a few copies.

My Baja Bound Road Guide, final revision in 2025, never got printed but I made it all available for free, online: https://vivabaja.com/baja-bound-road-guide/

Again, thank you Baja Nomad... a Baja place to chat and share since 2002!
I will be going in for some back surgery tomorrow (spinal fusion L4-L5) to put an end to my right leg sciatica and back pain of the past three years. Losing 40 pounds wasn't enough, lol!
Please help Doug keep Nomad viable by sharing trip reports and photos as many of you have!
Your Baja Amigo,
David

Thanks for the heads up David! You have been my favorite guest on Slow Baja podcast. ;)

In that pre-Google Earth and social media epoch, The Code was adhered to. It was based on a simple verity: if a locale had been transformational for you, and you had put the hard yards in to get there and to learn it, to know it, why in gods name would you broadcast the news, thus ruining the future experience not only for yourself, but for future adventurers?
