like camping under these oak trees. Just before you get to Santo Tomas there will be a dirt road going out to La Bocana. This site is about 3
miles down that road.
I stayed there last week. Did you go through the village to the hot springs?

LoretoBound, Most of the photos were from film but 3 or 4 years ago I bought a Fuji 2 megapixel camera and my quality of photos really improved. Six
months ago I bought a Casio z750 7megapixel camera and it is just awesome. The Casio hasn't been to Baja yet but come Jan/Feb I hope to get back down
south. I've made
11 x 14 inch prints from the Casio(at Costco for only $3) and they just blow people away at how clear, crisp, colorful and beautiful they are. I'll
post more
soon.

A great resource for camera selection is http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_reviews.html
Can sort by price/megapixel/etc It's a very non-commercial site with excellent testing and reviews. You may find it helpful as you do your
comparisons. Many, many, good digitals today. Another place to check for deals is www.bensbargains.net for electronic coupons for Best Buy, etc. Can sometimes double up with a sale and a coupon for online purchases. BH Photo
is always reliable, but usually not the best deal...depends of course.

Yes , that is the camera I have. All the reviews I read gave it a top rating which is why I bought it and after owning it 5 or 6 months 1300 pictures
later it works like a champ and I love it. My gut feeling is most any camera nowaday is going to ge a good camera so I'm not going to say it is any
better that others but here are some reviews and you can decide..

All three of these photo site are great. You could spend month reading and studying at these sites and never finish. The dpreview site has a very

Oh yea, this camera is small. Its just a bit larger than a credit card and yes it does lack the feel of a larger camera which is a good thing in a
compact camera.

Craig,
I can't wait to spend a LOT of time photographing every inch of Baja....well, I guess that would take serval lifetimes. I have been shooting a D100
for a couple years....I'm trying to ignore the new 10 megapixel cameras....even tho storage is cheap, what in the world do I need bigger files for?
Your work is very enjoyable...I'll be heading to Loreto in a couple weeks and I'll post any interesting images.

I agree with you, I've been using a Canon Rebel EOS 6.6 megapixel since they first came out. I don't think the extra megapixels would do me any good.
I've never had a problem blowing up any shot to 11X17 (the largest my printer will handle). I've even gone up to 2'x3' (poster size) when I still had
a 36" wide format printer and it came out perfect. Probably could have gone bigger but didn't have a printer that went any bigger.
As to zooming in, isn't that what interchangable lens' are for? For the cost of buying a new camera, I can buy a lot of zoom lens's (and fisheyes, and
ultra wide angle, and ......).
The only thing I'd like to have is picture stablization, and don't want that bad enough to buy a new camera at $1000+
