Hi there! 7:00pm Sunday Loreto. All is well with us here. I just put the satellite internet antenna back up on my roof. Hell, I should be a direcway technician as I have lots of experience with this thing now. No water in Loreto as the water source's tubes are damaged and it may be a few weeks before it is back up. Nopolo is isolated as from the many phone calls I got asking us to get people from off the beach there and take them to the airport. We found out that the airport may be damaged but I need to check on this. All flights today were cancelled only helicopters flying out (and in). Colonia Zaragoza is cut off, no water, no electricity but some cars are passing the arroyo. I have a report of a semi truck that was washed away as it tried to traverse the section of the highway where rip zaragoza crosses it, and damaged it. Also a report of a buried backhoe that was inside the arroyo zaragoza. The marina looks like a mess and it will be days before we can launch, even more days before we can launch and get boats through the crap all over the surface without damaging our intakes. There was severe flooding throught town but most has receded. The breakwall suffered minor damage but seaweed and debiis is piled high. I clocked winds at over 100mph that happened between 8 and 10pm last night. Thank goodness we were prepared. I have pictures and will post when I can. I didn't go out for very long as when we did I still did not have any news on wether or not we;d get more rain so I decided I'd head home. Now looking at the satellite it looks fine and I did a good thing by putting my sat antenna back up. BEtter go call my folks on the skype to let them know we're alright, no cell phone service and no phone lines working at the moment in Loreto.

I haven't ventured out very far today just a brief 20 minute trip to the marina and a drive by of my shop. Lots of windows taped up throughout town. I taped mine on friday morning and folks looked at me like I was from the moon, HA! I have some photos of the marina but this satellite upload is very slow so it will take me some time before I can get them up, but will work on it. I know the arroyo area at Miramar was forcibly evacuated on saturday before daylight. It did flood and many homes are gone there. Lots of makeshift homes in arroyos in Miramar as this colonia is growing by leaps and bounds with all the new construction workers coming here on a daily basis. I was not able to call anyone all day long without cell signal but a really weird thing was that a hotel in Cabo called me and relayed me to Inn at Loreto Bay where there were about 2 dozen people asking my help to get them from there to the airport. This was before I knew the airport was closed and all flights cancelled. I was told that the arryo between noplo and the air[ort was flooded and no passing possible so these folks actually wanted us to land boats at the beach in front of the hotel then to the beach in front of the airport! I was getting these phone calls from frantic guests every 30 seconds. Finally the hotel customer manager told me that the airport was closed due to damage and the calls stopped. I havn't yet confirmed damage to LTO (will tomorrow). Port of Loreto was red flagged and closed when I was by there this afternoon. Side streets between Mission hotel and the marina are flooded. Most of the water has receded though as even the rio zaragoza is passable with high clearance vehicles and chance taking drivers. Tomorrow after I take my kids to school (if there is any school) I'll do some looking around. I have confirmed there are no phone lines in or out of Loreto. I only seem to be receiving international calls on my cell and I can't make any outgoing calls. Will work on posting photos now (remember the painfully slow upload speed for satellite connections like mine so be patient).

Loreto wasn't hit very hard. Some wind, lots of rain, much debris, light damage, electric off 18hrs, phone 30+, water still.

Captions of pics are out of sight on my small scrren so I must scroll down to see them.
