Capt. Mike... also to refresh your memory on the people you met back in 2001 at Viva Baja 3 which you flew to Oceanside for (with Nomad 'BajaTaco' and wives): http://vivabaja.com/vivabaja3 There were over 100 people there, and it was awhile ago... but many are still active here on Nomad.

Heck, without looking at the photos, I forget who was at all my parties too!

El Jefe was there:

Mike:

Not that long ago the same thing happened to me in Mt. Shasta California. Met a nomad at a diesel station. The small world thing gets goofier though. It was El Jefe and his sweet bride!!! These guys get around....and they MUST stand out:lol:

There I go again...THAT whole thread is part of THIS one. DUH!

Is there only one strip left in Mulege, now? Before pavement arrived to ruin things, pilots had the only easy way to get there on one of four strips (three were right there in town)!

I thought it was officially called EL GALLITO. Wrong?

Perry, are you going to take a stab at Mike's question for that margarita?

I didn't mention any names or THREE LETTER CODES because I have an unfair advantage with my Baja airport books!

I don't think private dirt strips count, and the name can be whatever...
The map that Kamper linked to seems to point at the old Muņoz strip west of Mulege... It's not pointing to the Serenidad strip, very near the gulf.

Now, the question is does the code abbreviate El Gallito or Hotel Serenidad?
