It sure looks like a very old cinder cone---------way to eroded to be recent, expecially considering the dry climate. That is one "old" cinder cone.

Driving out to the point-----


When we were there a couple of years ago, we camped right in town on the cliff tops above the water, facing south. For some reason we never drove, or walked, out to the point-----I vaguely remember that we were not able???? that it was some restricted area, or something????? But we were really busy visiting with all the folks that came down to see us, so maybe we just did not take the time. Very friendly town.

This is a really vague memory, so don't trust me. We camped just east of the big seafood packing plant, between some houses.
