American Barn Owl!

Die you know that I haqve a White Barn owl living in my front yard and that it is very quiet and comes out of its palm Tree at the same time every nite.
And that it gets baby Sqwacks out of their nest and eats their head completely then drops the rest of the Corspe in my front yard,
and did you know that the Biology clasess will pay good money for the Fecas of the owl, the Class studies to determine the bone structure of what the Owls eat.

A test

As I stated, my original post was a test but, now that we are on the subject.
When we lived in Valley Center, it was an 85 acre ranch. I had a large shelf built in a barn and one day, I heard "tunk, tunk, tunk" coming from the shelf.
I climbed up and it was owl eggs rolling out of a sleeping pad and onto the shelf.
Unfortunately, the mother owl was only around for about 2 weeks after the eggs hatched before she disappeared. Coyotes probably.
So, I contacted the Humane Society, Wild Animal Park, Zoo and Animal Rescue People to see about food. All of them wanted the baby owls and said they were much better equipped to raise them.
Perhaps so, but the mother obviously didn't feel that way as those 85 acres didn't apply to the owls. They had more! And pretty much an Owl paradise as well.
So, through Animal Rescue, I received bags of frozen mice. Pretty attractive next to the Ice Cream I might add.
Sometimes, we couldn't get the mice so our cat and dogs would bring back rodents. I couldn't believe it either!
3 of the baby Owls survived and the first semi flight occured when they had been out of food for a day. One flew down under a cabinet to probably get a mouse. Anyway, it was under there when I opened the door to feed them a dead rabbit. I held out the rabbit expecting my hand to be turned into hamburger and there was a huge flurry of wings, the rabbit was literally snatched from out of my hand and I wasn't touched. These guys are awesome.
They lived, flew off and every once in a while one of them would do a fly by of our front porch. Either thanking our pets for the food donations or perhaps sizing up the cat for ---hmmmmmm.
While raising the Owls, I learned that they can be trained fairly easily but I think I prefer them wild. Plus, seemed like a lot of work to me.
