Gettin Ready

'Put my camper on the other day, 'got my boat out of the backyard, 'took off my snowtires. I'm getting real exited about head'n south. I have a little shopping left to do for food, but just about everything else is ready to load. I have over a week now to think of last minute things. I'll be leaving Salt Lake City on Monday the 22nd if it's not snowing too bad, and after visiting relatives in So. Cal., crossing the border later that week.

If TJ still has the 2 hr lines at the checkpoints I may head over through Tecate, although I will miss the nice drive down the Cuota along the coast. I will head to San Quintin and stay at El Pabellon the first night. Then as far south as I can the 2nd (Playa Santaspac?). The 3rd day I hope to make it to LaPaz, and then on to Los Frailes the 4th day. I don't have to drive in the dark anymore, so I won't push any harder than that.

Unfortunately, it's going to be cold and snowy between now and then, with lows in the single digits over this weekend. I can't put anything that will freeze in the camper until just before I leave.

I have a "Got Baja" sticker on the back of my camper, so
if you see me, say helo. It would be nice to meet other Nomads. I drive a white/silver "98 Dodge Dakota with a 4-Wheel poptop camper, and haul a 14' aluminum boat.

I Can't Wait!!!
