Sallysouth ----
I didn't know Debra and I hope she's alright.
Is that Capo Beach where you live? I lived there for years in Leroy Browns trailer camp, if you remember that.

Dennis,

I remember Bad Bad Leroy Brown back in the early 70's. He really liked being refered to as Bad Bad Leroy after the song by Jim Croce!
I live in Capo Beach and have a house in Campo La Jolla across from Leslie and Mike's house. I joined the group at Patty's last Saturday and Mike said he knows you well. I probably bumped into you in the past and hope to met you during the new year. The wife and I are down there about twice a month!

No no --------
La Jolla is Baja
CapoBeach is Capo.
Leroy Brown owned the cabin and trailer camp behind his gas station close to the coast highway overpass, across from the post office next to the hardware store across from the Chinese restaurant next to Shades realestate office by the auto parts business.
Probably all gone now but, that's the way it was.

I got this message today from MaryAnn,

"Debra has been having trouble with her computer and is out of touch via email, etc. Her brother, Ron, is supposed to be bringing her a new one with lots of bells and whistles on it. Don't know if she has it yet. She is flying down to attend Mike's Celebration; she's arriving Thurs., and will stay in my motorhome and fly home on Mon. And then she will drive down sometime the end of March and we will go down to bahia til it gets too hot, I guess."

So there you have it, that's the latest. I'm sure that when she gets back online she'll be checking in.

Wow Capo and Dana Point, what a small world.
Mike and I are from Dana Point (since 1985, Huntington before that) and still have a place there, that's where we flee to in September when it gets so muggy here in Loreto. We truely get the best of both worlds.

See Paulina's post just above...

Let's attend the Mike Humfreville remembrance on Feb. 10 in Glendale... He would very much like the Baja Amigos y Nomads to be together... Mike (& Mary Ann) never missed a Viva Baja or BBBB get-together.

Anyway, Mike would want to hassle Debra and she would call him a putz, in responce! Those two fought and made up like brothers and sisters! Good times at Camp Gecko with all of us together... I will miss that!

Dennis,

Yes, I think I know who you are! We'll be down at the Campo La Jolla house this coming weekend and I'll try to make it to Patty's on Saturday.
As far as Capo Beach, I've lived in the area since 1970 and some of the business's are still there. The real estate, liquor store, donut world, Chinese restaurant, post office are there and the auto parts store moved to a small building on Las Vegas Ave.

I think the Chinese restaurant Dennis is referring to is/was the old King's Kitchen. It was in the small strip mall across the street from the post office. Became a small auto parts store for a number of years but I believe that's become something else, too.

I'm local and long enough in the tooth to remember all this, too. But the biggest loss was the loss of Henry's (Sernas) restaurant on Coast Hwy. I basically learned to drink beer and there and at Mexico Lindo in SJC. Olamendi's just isn't the same.
