A Challenge for Doug!

Sir! I will give you $50.00 for a signed original, 1st edition Nomad Bumper sticker.....in advance because I really trust you!

Any other Nomads out there that wish to help get Doug off the dime and into production????

I figure that if we can kick in about 200 bucks he won't have any excuses left.........well, except that he might be just a little busy earning his first million.

I'll even bet there is someone out there who will help design it for him and us.

Bernie, I will also put up $50 dollars in advance but I would like one signed and 4 unsigned to go on my vehicles. I think this would really help Nomads help each other out if they were on the side of the road broke down or just getting a fish taco or two (Not necessarily just in Mexico could be U.S. also). One thing about it every Nomad that has been in Mexico has a story or two. Bernie you have made it a point of writing your stories down, which keeps them from getting forgotten in time. Yea, Nomad stickers your on a path that will probably find a lot of travelers Bernie. All Doug needs to do is Post that it's worth doing and two more $50 dollar Nomads putting into the hat. Baja Fun

You add the way I do..................there is me+grover+you=the need for one more to make it 200 bucks.

If Doug will go along with it I will provide plain brown wrapping paper with his business address marked personnel and confidential

Anymore takers out there..............heck if we collect enough maybe we can cover the first run of hats.

I remember Doug talking about how important it is in modern life to 'network' and I guess that is what we are doing here so he couldn't really say no! Could he? Nah!

Nice sentiment, David; HEAR HEAR!!!

Perhaps u2u might be a tad more discreet. ;)
What is not discreet ? :?: Is there something here that is not to be seen in public. :?::?: And Doug, Thankyou for hosting one of the most dynamic forums I have encountered . Thanks again, CaboRon :wow:

Sorry to give a bad impression.

There are some here who become unduly enraged with those they disagree with.

One has said he will hire a private investigator to find out everything about me, presumably for the purpose of humiliating and silencing me.

Go right ahead and thrill yourself, weirdo. ;)
:?::?::?::?: So,, why am I a wiredo ? I thought this was a thread about t-shirts. I'm not enraged...simple wondering what your deal is. :?::?::?: CaboRon

Click on The Baja Nomad Tienda link at the top of the web page here... then click on 'contact us'... there is an address in San Diego for Q87 International (Doug's company)... I presume it is okay to mail our $50 checks to it?

Well! Guess Doug is just too busy to read his own board.

We'll just have to keep this on page one until he has time to respond.

Talked with Doug today, and YES the address given by clicking 'contact us' (at the very bottom) is a good one to send your donations to keep Nomad on the Internet, advance Nomad bumper sticker orders, or whatever to Doug Means...

More shirts are coming and finally a Baja Nomad bumper sticker is coming!!!

I'm still waiting until 'the man' commits himself here.

I talked to him this morning, I think I woke him up, and he said that he would get back to me..........so I'll just wait for his word before we all start tossing money at him in a way that might offend him.

David, gotta tell you that you know how to 'point the way in Baja' but you don't know jack about getting the folks to part with their bucks.............If they know that the stickers are enroute then why should/would they wish to pony up the cash to launch something that is already financed.
I would still like to do what I suggested but as I said only after Doug says yes or no for himself.

Besides the stickers sure were not available or even ordered at 0800 this morning when I talked to Doug about it.

Honest folks! I am not trying to run a 'con' on anyone! Unfortunately! now it certainly does look like it.

Bernie, they aren't financed... that is what the donations are about... Do you know it is possible to order things on credit or in 30 days due?

Doug has been doing the research for them, which is a big deal since Doug has previously been against bumper stickers! So, that means people who send in money now will have some assurance there will be something made... that's all.

They won't be free, so one still needs to donate to get them...

Ok, David K and Bernie I got my $50 dollar check made out and will send it to the following address: Q87 International, 4305 Gesner, Suite 227, San Diego, CA. 92117 Attn: Doug Means I met Doug twice now and I know he has a lot of work with everything he is juggling. Now, sometimes you just got bet on the horse you know will come through. What Doug puts together will be interesting and get the message across that your a Nomad when the sticker is placed on your vehicle. I still think it will help people strike up conversations quicker when they see the bumper sticker on your vehicle. Maybe he will put something together like "GOT BajaNomad.Com" with some colors that bring it out. Heck Bernie maybe even the phrase under it "No Hurry No Worry Just Baja." Now I know others will also come up with some ideas. I know Doug probably already kind of knows what he wants but if others have ideas then he could look them over and do his thing!! Later, Bajafun777

"Do you know it is possible to order things on credit or in 30 days due?"

What an amazing quote from a guy who I knows likes this old guy. I would suggest that you are probably the last person on earth that I would feel comfortable with asking anything about how I should deal with finances.

Yes! I am familar with that possibility although I have not had an occasion to avail myself of that procedure.

Did you really read what I had to say or did you just decide to lecture me on something that was my idea and something that I put forward to advance the desire for bumper stickers by many Nomads.

I continually acknowledge the fact that you know a whole lot about Baja but I do believe that I do have some small skills and knowledge that you are not privy to and that you could learn to apply and that they would enhance your ability to get things done in a manner that does not ruffle other folks feathers.

You are a great guy but you occasionally need to think before you leap.

I do hope that you take this as constructive critizism and not as a personal attack.

And, yes, David I know I could have dealt with this in U-2-U's or on emails but my mild suggestions via those avenues have settled on deaf ears. And please recall that it was you who chose this forum to lecture me.

My good friend Bernie, I was responding to this, from you: "David, gotta tell you that you know how to 'point the way in Baja' but you don't know jack about getting the folks to part with their bucks.............If they know that the stickers are enroute then why should/would they wish to pony up the cash to launch something that is already financed."

Now, I think what I responded with was to answer what you typed... "Bernie, they aren't financed... that is what the donations are about... Do you know it is possible to order things on credit or in 30 days due?"

What I can't figure is why you think NOBODY will send money to Doug to help Baja Nomad stay on the air rather he has stickers ordered or not? I never said they were financed, anyway... They are NOT, so please Nomads send in a contribution!!

My $50 check is going in TODAY'S mail, and I don't care when he has them made because I find Baja Nomad the absolute greatest source of travel information on the Magic Peninsula and a place of daily entertainment. I pay more each month for cable TV and magazines, and I am on Nomad more!!

Bernie, I love you man... I just don't think you understand me sometimes?!

As Baja Fun 777 said, mail to:

Grover, I like it when "your in your in" and let the cards do the rest:cool:. I know that more Nomads can get in on this and help push this over the top in helping Doug "Get ER Done" as the saying goes. I think the bumper stickers and shirts will definately help our Nomads out when they are traveling in Baja, Mainland Mexico, and even here in the good old U.S.A. I know I would stop for a vehicle with a Nomad sticker on it and I think other Nomads would to. I know I would walk up and strike a conversation up with someone that I see drive up and park a vehicle with a Nomad sticker on it in any location I was at. The Nomad shirt would also get the same reaction from me and think it would get that same reactions from other Nomads. Hope this just keeps building and helps Doug out:bounce:. BajaFun

Happened to me the other day........A guy walked up and saw my Bouncing Around Baja Sticker, an old, new, Amigo de Baja Sticker, and David K's sticker on my car and started a conversation with me about the guy who had just been killed in the 500.

Had a great chat and though he was not a Nomad he had heard of us and wondered why I didn't have a Nomad sticker--that was part of the reason that I issued this challenge to Doug.

Aside from what you say Baja Guys & Gals just love to collect Baja Stuff. And they have fun doing it.

My check is also in the mail and all that I ask is that Doug handle it carefully or be willing to chase it down as it bounces merrily down the street.

In that case... :tumble:

LOL...

Thanks Diver, you do understand... Doug will never ask for himself as he is too humble... His closest friends know we have to promote the idea of supporting Nomad because we want it to stay online, and he needs to be comfortable selling Nomad products or asking for help.
