How much fits in your truck?

Our neighbors watched for two weeks as John packed and unpacked our Toyota Tundra for our first trip to our new place in Bahia Asuncion---think they thought he was crazy.
I was surprised there was still room for me and the dogs.

When we first spread it out on our new front porch, I was amazed how much was in there.

But then with it spread out even further, it really looked like he had accomplished the impossible.

And we even had some living room furniture.:lol:

And we got the red light at the border---but with the sleeping bags, ice chest, and duffle bags at the back, they just took a quick look and sent us on our way.

Had to return too soon, but headed back soon.

Diane

brings back such fond memories. each trip south, steve loaded the highlander to the gills and upon returning north, within a couple of hours i'd find myself beginning to take stuff to our staging area, the guest bedroom. whether we had to wait three weeks or three months to return to our house in ensenada, the staging area was never empty:lol:

and the contents of our loads were remarkably similar to yours:bounce:

as steve used to say to me when i pouted about having to go back north, "just think of it as a re-supply trip.";D

Guest bedroom? Ah yes, there is a bed hidden somewhere under all the stuff for our next load.:spingrin:

Here's my load for a 3 day weekend....And no, the little kid did not ride in the back :)

Substantially less than when packed for a 10 day trip to the beach....Then I can't even see see out the back.

When my brothers and I take our annual trip to Baja the truck is packed high with stuff including a motorcycle. As the trip goes by everything seems to take up less room yet the only thing removed and used up is the small amount of fire wood we take and it goes pretty quick. I'm not counting the cooler contents as they are constantly replaced.

I remember very well our first trip down in our old Toyota long bed. we furnished our entire house...mattress, futon, futon frame unassembled, linens, all those paper products that you have. I found these tables(4) that had 3 legs that screwed into a circle of particle board and had a glass to cover the round table cloths. We had already bought some of those local metal rockers(still have them...jim is reading in one of them as I type) and with these tables we were all set.
Well we were all set until we arrived at our house only to find that in fact it was not even near finished, but thats another story.

The key getting stuff past the red light inspection seems to be:

1. No cargo or flat bed trailer.
2. Everything stuffed in one vehicle.
3. The stuff most visible looks like camping gear.

Good job, Trotters.

Never traveled Baja with so little on our way back, but we did bring back the sleeping bags to put in the back once again.:spingrin:
