poot says good bye
we all know the importance our pets play in the big picture. they are family, they are part of us, they are a part of our lives, they become family
members and friends. well we lost a good friend last nite as "poot" past away in her sleep. she provided us with many smiles thru bad times and good.
not to only us but to our friends. she put smiles on peoples faces when they had nothing else left. wish you could have stuck around longer, you will
be missed by more than just us.
"crawl, crawl, crawl" she was always involved and usually in the way. miss you "poot the wonder dog"

So sorry for your loss
The Rainbow Bridge Story
Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to
Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our
friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made
whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and time gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body
quivers. Suddenly he begins to break from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and
when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face;
your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from
your heart.
THEN YOU CROSS RAINBOW BRIDGE TOGETHER....

Marv,
I can empathise with you. 45 minutes ago I had to euthanize our cat, Freeway. Gosh, I'm not sure which is more difficult. Finding a loved one after
they expire or having to take responsibility and euthanizing a friend.
Freeway was 21 years old, blind, deaf and losing her ability to walk and find her food dish or littler box. She came to us in a freakish way. Born in
a field and hiding out in one of the delivery truck engine compartments. She couldn't have been 4 weeks old.
The mechanic drove the truck 15 miles from the storage lot back to my store. He apologized about the squeaking fan belt, but just couldn't get it to
quiet down. Several of us were standing and looking at the motor as it hummed along and heard the loud squeal. I was closest, staring in that hot
engine compartment I noticed two little eyes staring up at me from the depths of kitten hell. I reached down inside and pulled out the little black
squealing kitten. She was named on ther spot and my daughter bottle fed her for several weeks. A damn good cat and I'll miss her as much as I know
you'll miss Poot.

There are few words to describe a loss like that , Marv
So sorry Poot's gone . I always wished I could just have one conversation with a beloved dog before they go.

April 28th, 2006 we had to put our Baco (bacquito) to sleep, he was blind, deaf and I believe suffering from a kind of dementia. He was a mixed breed,
and just shy of 18 years at his passing- a very small dog with a big heart and lots of devotion. He was absolutely devoted to us and us to him. He
never spent a night without our being there with him. When we spent nights in a hotel we would put him in a bag to conceal his presence.
As he got older I was hoping he would pass on in his sleep-it really tore me when I realized that was not to be.
Sorry about your loss and I am sure you will continue to miss him.

Here too are our words of sympathy... We hope they provide some hugging comfort to you .. Poot & Freeway & Baco have joined others that
awaited their arrival with open paws to welcome them .. only time seems to ease the pain our hearts feel from the hole created ... Tommy & Lori

Marv, I lost my best friend, Sage, in 1990. No dog could ever live up to the realtionship I had with him. I have been dog-less ever since. I will
never replace him. But today, I have a "granddog", my daughter's dog (same breed-she was affected too). I will be baby sitting him next week. Life
ain't too bad.
Be strong. Better days are ahead.

Marv, I am so sorry for your loss.
And Bedman you and Emna know exactly how I feel......a few days ago I had to do the same thing to Keicko. 10yrs. he was my "velcro fur ball" He was
so funny, when Brendan and I would get ready to travel, as soon as the suit cases came out he would start acting up, the last couple of years he would
sit on the suit cases and not move except to eat! My husband would tell me that he just cried while we were away, my sister-in-law told me that my
husband would call her and ask for her advice on what to do to calm him down. As you know he finally got his way and spent a couple of month in Bahia
with us this spring, he fit right in, in fact the day we were leaving I guess he decided he liked Baja so much he wasn't ready to leave, It took us an
hour to find him so we could get on the road.
It hurts so much when we lose a member of our family, it hurts soooooooooooooo much! I just have to remind myself that he had 10 good years with His
boy and myself, he was healthy and happy until that day, Brendan and I held him and comforted him as he went off to sleep. We brought him home and
buried him in our back yard next to an aging Cedar tree that is so old I'm sure it and he will be proctected for many, many years to come, long
after I'm gone anyway.
Keri, thank you for the Rainbow Bridge story........it helps to think of our beloved family members there playing together.
And to those who might be reading this and trying to help. I know it's well meaning, but, offering another pet so close to the lose is just too
painful. I've had a couple of people do that, and all I could do was excuse myself and hang up and cry.
My heart goes out to all of you. Debra
