How do you contain the excitement before you actually leave for Baja?
There are only 41 more sleeps till Mr. Gypsy and myself head off for a much need trip/vacation in Baja. We usually try to do it twice a year, but
unfortunetly due to financial issues (car accident long story), we have not been in Baja since littlest Gypsy's 8th birthday last November.
The excitement, and anticipation is about to kill me I'm sure of it!!!! I log onto Baja Nomad, and my heart starts flutering (I don't need any smart
a$$, telling me to get a life, I know I need to get one!!!!).
I can't wait to get down to Baja, we will leave on September 7th after work (around 5:30pm) and drive like crazy people till we get to San Diego
around 8:30 - 9:00 pm September 8th. We will get a room somewhere in San Diego, have a much needed shower and nap (don't want to stink Shari out!)
and then be on our way September 9th to Shari's house. I'm even looking forward to the traffic issues of crossing the boarder and morning traffic!!
I can't wait to buy some real fruit, the fruit here doesn't taste like it does in Baja, have a great big fish taco, smell the ocean, drink a Pacifico,
have a yummy margarita, the list could go on and on.
I guess my question is what does everyone else do to make the time go by faster, and stop the excitement!!!?????

The anticipation excitement is part of the deal of going to Baja. Just sit back and enjoy what's going on in your mind. When you finally get down
there your experiences will most likely surpass your current thoughts. It's all part of your trip down there. You are actually on vacation while you
are thinking about being there!

Please post a trip report when you return. We are headed down in October - and also hope to visit Sheri and that area of Baja, and then on to Mulege
and maybe La Paz.

I take off my shoes, start slamming tequila shooters, cracking cervezas and abandoning all responsibilities. OK? Bueno!

You should put your name and date this quote. Simply OUTSTANDING! I would only add "light up a fine cigar" between 'I take of my shoes and slamming
tequila shooters'.

I do that on a regular basis, but maybe if I do it a bit more, I won't have any concept of time

On a perhaps more serious note...I have been accused of being too much of a "boy scout" so I find myself going over "the list" in a pretty much manic
manner. I find myself day-dreaming about the positive, and running scenarios about potential negatives that help to assure I'll be able to
self-rescue should that become necessary. Between that and packing and re-packing until everyting is hopelessly "perfect", the days still drag
on.

I like Comitan's word of the day and Toneart's technical schematic.
This time last year, I was selling my Denver house, hoping for an offer on it and spending most of my time on www looking at Baja real estate,
entertainment, weather, boating, travel, etc.
Living here is much better than I ever dreamed.

I do Tequila shooters, drink copious amounts of cerveza and eat out alot at the local Taqueria. Oh yeah, can't forget eating Jalepeno peppers and
throw away all the white bread in the house and eat tortillas instead. And of course everything consumed is drenched in lime juice and has lime juice
added to it.
