Smokey the Bear's Birthday

Yes, my fascination with holidays, especially this one on Smokey, can be a stretch for Baja. But, the television ad images on STB from my childhood were powerful.

Back to Baja, this reminds me of Dennis' May thread, "Why Does Baja Like You?"

Leave it better than you found it, as so many Nomads seem to do. Only YOU can make Baja better.

Correction, Thanks BajaGuy,
"Smokey's correct, full name is Smokey Bear. In the popular song "Smokey The Bear" written in 1952 by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins a "the" was added to his name to keep the song's rhythm."

Oh Yes,

This does bring powerful images from childhood to the fore .... Smoky came on the scene in 1944 ... with that great 'America Needs You' graphic .... very powerful ....
