Sounds like Baja is moving north some more------horizontal movement, which would not cause Tsunamis. Vertical movement causes tsunami's, I believe.

Is there a history of significant earthquakes and damage in southern and central Baja?

Joel,
check out the USGS website--there's a lot of good historical data there:

Personally, I don't think it pays to worry about something that you have absolutely NO CONTROL over------just like everything else in Mexico--if it
happens, it happens!!
------sorta like "global warming", or cooling, which has been going on for as long as the geological record has recorded, and then some---------just
adapt, and go with the flow.
