oooohhhh yea baby....
you'll need a customs broker and open the wallet![](./images/smilies/lol.gif)
i suggest to get a USA broker
he'll do the piediemto (green sheet)
and you'll cross ... no problem
contact the broker IN ADVANCE...
this week we're bringing across some more "plastic fence"
here's a contact...

In the 90's we built a home here, brought lots of cash, did large bank money transfers and were never questioned about any of it.
The only drawback nowadays I can see is, with the curent rash of robberies, the danger of carrying that much cash. Better keep it in your
moccasins.![:wow:](./images/smilies/wow.gif)

No worries. By the time they finish with you at the border you will have much less than $10,000

The official procedure is to check the "YES" box on the form your required to fill out on the plane......the ramifications of what
happens when that "YES" box is checked is a scary unknown! The fact they ask that question, tells me someone somewhere along the
line is going to want a chunk of it in one form or another!! Have you considered wire transferring it down to yourself or a trusted friend &
being able to relax on your flight? There is also Western Union. Fees for either might be well worth the stress of carrying that kind of $$$ on your
person!
Call the airlines & ASK....or call a travel agent....if they ask, just give your name as Juan Dough!

To everything, there is a season
I used to declare when going to the US when we had the hotels in Rosarito (pre9/11) as our weekly rent during high season was up to 32,000 dollars
(yes I wrote weekly), as we went across we told the customs officer we needed to declare X ammount and we were directed to secondary, we filled the
IRS form and done, they don't count your money or even look at it (at least not back then), now to enter México, you must fill out a form also and
it's here :
http://www.aduanas.sat.gob.mx/aduana_mexico/2007/A_Body_Pasa...
Edit for PS
PS no need to lie, that is when they get you!

There are other (much easier) ways that don't involve taxing entities. Send me a PM if you want some ideas.

Moving Cash
The Downside to NOT declaring and being caught is pretty severe, but the odds are in your favor.
On two occasions over the last few years, while crossing Northbound at the Mexicali East Garita, I have seen the U.S. authorities routing EVERY
vehicle into the Secondary area before allowing them to continue South. The purpose was exactly what you're talking about. Attempting to intercept
those moving cash. On one occasion after these rare periodic checks, I read in the newspaper that they had caught one vehicle in which there was over
$100K in cash that couldn't be explained.
BUT, the odds of being caught are pretty long and, if so, write it off to experience.

Reminds me of a time walking up to
the turnstiles at San Ysidro, to catch a bus to La Paz,
I believe it was the SDPD there,
big shaved headed cop,
wanted to know if I had more than
$10000 in cash on me, proceded
to xray my bag and was
concerned with an odd shaped object,
might be a gun? no just a
banana to eat on the bus ride

They have been known to confiscate planes, throu pilots in jail for smuggling but not for taxing money that a traveler reports at borders.

The $10,000 reporting requirement of the Bank Secrecy Act does not carry with it a taxing provision. As Fernando indicated only a reporting
requirement. If somehow caught without making the reporting you could stand to lose all or part of it.

I stand corrected, Now I am moving all of my money (none) out of the country tax free!!![](./images/smilies/lol.gif) ![](./images/smilies/lol.gif)
All jokes aside, I think if you stopped and pondered the whole picture some unsaid aspects would come to mind. I am not advocating moving
large mounts of cash across the border without reporting them, just be aware of ALL of the ramifications of doing so.

Cap,
Hmmmm....fly low...land on roads....??!!??!!
I see you are in the "transportation" business![](./images/smilies/lol.gif) ![](./images/smilies/lol.gif)
I met a guy in San Juanico who was loaded with tattoos and indicated that he had been (probably still was) in the transportation business in SouCal.
Probably international shipment of flowers and nasal treatments.
